16. Justin Reeves - 21/5/00 geekusa79@hotmail.com Age: 18 Location: Lindon, Utah | This album is great! I did find a couple of songs difficult to get used to. But after I saw them live. all worries were put to rest. Long live Billy Corgan, best song writer in the modern ages. |

13. Maria - 4/5/00 pumpkinstarlight@aol.com Age: 17 Location: Wisconsin, US | I think that with the time spent on the album by the pumpkins could have had a little more originality...after the 3rd song it gets to be a little "deja vu"...but the concert was great...i think that some of the songs are one of the best they've done....but the others.......:( |
12. Lindsay - 2/5/00 SPfan_17@yahoo.com Age: 19 Location: California | Machina has turned out to be one of my favorite pumpkins album of all time. It took a few days to get used to it, no more crying guitars... but I knew the words in 3 days flat. I love all the other pumpkins albums as well, but seeing Billy happy makes me happy.. and with album you see how happy he is with his life at this moment. |

5. Clark - 3/4/00 metallicakorn@metallica.com Age: 15 Location: CA | Machina kicks ass, but it isn't as good as siamese dream or Mellon Collie. The best thing is that Everlasting Gaze is almost as good as Bullet With Butterfly Wings.album. |
4. Drok - 26/3/00 Drokg@latinmail.com Age: 20 Location: Australia | Awesome. it's hard, it's relaxing it's everything you want in music. my new favourite album. |

2. Alepanda - 25/3/00 chewniee@cvmail.cl Age: 22 Location: Santiago, Chile | I think that machina is very "easy listening" with adore i was kinda surprised but machina, i was expecting this. I love it. |
1. Alexia Iscariot - 6/3/00 silverangel33@hotmail.com Age: 18 Location: Dallas | Machina represents an end its an album that says goodbye: goodbye to the past, goodbye to mistakes, goodbye to fears. The album also revolves around central themes of God, the music industry, and Billy's relationship to the fans and Yelena. Lyrically the songs are open ended stand inside your love could have been written about Corgan's love of his fans or the love of his girlfriend. The everlasting gaze could have been written about the fickle media or God. It's this ambiguity that shows that in love or disappointment, the feelings are the same. Phonically, the album would be a brilliant one to end the Pumpkins career with (if they indeed choose to break up) It microcosms everything the band has been doing for the past decade. It shows the lessons they learned from adore (shimmering guitars) the fuzz they learned on Siamese Dream, the drums that were instrumental to Mellon Collie and the lyrical ambuiguity of Gish. For me, this album is heartbreaking. The sadness! of the lyrics and the notes has never been so acute. When I listen to it, I am reminded of things ending-my childhood, the band. The album feels alone, isolated, beautiful. Its the quintessential pumpkins album, and it reminds me of how tragic it will be to lose this band, whether in 10 years or one year. I don't think even Radiohead could write beautiful tragedy like this. |
