Ta da, I have made it through the last week without making myself sicker (well, not a lot sicker). On Tuesday I was involved with something pretty cool. I volunteered at the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame 2nd annual awards gala, as an usher. While I didn't get to seat anyone terribly famous, I did get to see a bunch of great performances. I was actually close to tears after Buffy Ste. Marie sang, as were a few other volunteers (the ones who knew who she was, anyway). Stupid teen volunteers had no idea who Gordon Lightfoot was. Seeing those volunteers reminded me why it was good to be out of high school. I'd forgotten how much twinks irk me. Anyway, aside from toast at breakfast and one timbit for lunch, I didn't eat anything all day so I was pretty spent afterwards. Some of the other performers included Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings of The Guess Who, Ian Thornley, Tom Cochrane, Three Days Grace, Jacksoul, and Tom Jackson. It was a bizarre kind of thing to see, our relatively lame Canadian entertainment scene. No one fun was at the VIP party, besides Zack Warner of Canadian Idol fame. Oh, and the lead singer from Scratching Post.
Next week I've got three final exams (down from the original four), and four final assignments due. Aaaaaaaaa. Thank jeebus I only have to study for one of the exams. And one of them is math. Yah. I actually learned something in the last half of the term, it was so exciting. Now I can calculate harmonic frequencies, sound intensity, MIDI messages, and SMPTE timecode. Yesss.
Chinese New Year was totally uneventful. Sandra is in town, and I was invited to her parents' place for dinner but I couldn't even go because of the work I had to do. (sad face)
I got two valentines in the mail this week. Thanks to my lover, and to Frank. (hearts)
I missed the Constantines last night (another sad face). I might miss another concert I wanted to see tonight. I still haven't gotten together with Sandra. She won't call me back. BITCH! Well, at least I'll have two dates on Vday. Yesss.
