To see where each of these Melbourne suburbs (apart from Broadford which is about 1 hour north of Melbourne) is located, see this map. 1. An allusion to 'Morningtown Ride' the title of a song by 60s Australian band, The Seekers.
2. Doc Martens are shoes.
3. Air Jordans are Nike sportshoes.
4. 'Moccas' are moccasins, sheepskin slipper-type footwear usually worn by yobs. Also mentioned in the lyrics to Foster's Carpark Boogie.
5. Eltham has a sizeable German population.
6. Caulfield has a sizeable Jewish population. 'The Chosen' is a book about a Jewish boy and his father, written by Chaim Potok.
7. Broady = Broadmeadows, a yob suburb.
