Sepultura got started back in 1984 in the third largest country in brazil, called Belo Horizonte. It was founded by band leader, Max Cavalera as the Lead Vocalist and Rythem Guitar and his brother Igor Cavalera who played percussion(drums). Max, Igor, Jairo T. and Paulo were friends in school. Jairo T. left the band (because he wanted to learn to play) and Sepultura took in Andreas Kisser and Lead Guitar. Jairo joined another metal band in 1989 called the Mist.
Sepultura got it's name from Max, because he use to translate songs from English to Portuguese and when he translated a MotorHead song, "Dancing On Your Grave" he decided to name the band Sepultura because in Portuguese it means "Grave."
Blah..blah..Stuff happened.
They put out some albums, Morbid Visions, Schizophrenia, Beneath The Remains, Arise, Chaos A.D. Roots, and Blood-Rooted(demo's, and live shit).
Then Igor and Max got into an argument about something stupid and Max decided to leave the band, and recently formed a new band called "Soulfly" and came out with a debut album which kicks ass. Then Sepultura took in a panty waste named Derrick green. He sucks.
