TEN TIPS FOR A TROPHY
SMALLMOUTH
1.) Be very selective in the lakes you choose.
2.) Pick key areas and work them well.
3.) Be meticulous about your equipment, lures, colors, rod, reel and line.
4.) Check your hooks for sharpness and your line for fray.
5.) If you're catching small fish, fish deeper; big smallmouths tend to stay deeper than small
ones.
6.) Repeat key locations.
7.) Plan your fishing trips around prime times, seasons and moon phases.
8.) Be motivated, have confidence and be patient.
9.) Approach each area quietly and from the deepest side possible.
10.) Keep detailed records of the lake, location, time, depth, lake elevation, lure color,
presentation, moon phases and weather conditions.
