Superstar
Quiet
Seems too quiet now.
Stage standing silent and dark,
But it wasn't over. No,
Not over yet.
Backstage
Feeling like he isn't supposed to be here,
But here he is, back...
Backstage.
Goosebumps on goosebumps,
Knots of knots in his stomach
As Superstar strolls through
The backstage door.
Shivering, quivering excitement
As he extends a sweaty palm.
Superstar grabs it,
Shakes it,
Looks at his fan - his excited innocent eyes,
And wishes he was him.
