It is difficult to categorise Tortoise's music. It seem that everywhere in magazine and on the web, they are put in a big basket call post-rock. What is post-rock? I don't know, I don't want to know and I don't give a fuck. Post-rock is just a (stupid) label put on many bands that aren't easy to describe. The band is based on improvisation and complex melodies that takes a while to catch. I don't know how many members form the band, but it seem really big. Each musician plays different instruments that goes to simple drums, guitars, bass to more complex instruments like vibraphones, electronic gizmos, keyboards and other stuff.
