Houston Review
I traveled all the way from Los Angeles to catch one of the final Albertane tour dates, needless to say it certainly was a night I will soon not forget!
Lucky for me I had a backstage pass waiting for me @ WillCall so meeting Hanson was an even better addition to my trip! I could never say enough nice things about them, they are so warm and friendly.
Hanson opened their set with none other than their famous rendition of 'Gimme Some Lovn/Shake your Tailfeather' which got the crowd roaring instantly! Next up was 'Thinking of You' followed by 'Where's the Love' and an awesome newer version of 'River' .
'Weird' was played next and ya just gotta know every person in the place broke out their lighters for that one! One of my personal faves, a killer oldie "Magic Carpet Ride' was played next and the guys dedicated it to their amazing road crew! (ahh, what sweeties)!
After a quick set change the acoustic instruments were brought out and Hanson rolled through "Stories', 'Sometimes', 'In your Dreams' (dedication included) , 'Solider' and another classic 'Money-That's what I want' ..While Zac and Taylor took a short break they left big bro Isaac to sing his beautiful ballad "More than Anything'- wow can that man sing!
Before you knew what hit you Taylor literally came and showed you-WATER! All over the front row of course! Then they broke into "Speechless' and a band intro (ya know that song at the end of TTand MON). At this point Supersoakers were brought forward and the first few rows (myself included) were zapped by Zac and company..
I love those awesome glowing drumsticks Zac has, he used them during a couple songs and did his usual air traffic control routine! he he :) Next was "Ever Lonely" and 'I will Come to You' which Taylor dedicated to the people on the lawn..
Their set was quickly and sadly coming to an end as they played my fave track from MON 'A minute without You'..Ya know they came back out to do more though, and got everyone dancing again with "Good Lovin', 'MMMBop" (of course!) 'Man from Milwaukee' (which kinda bummed me a little because Zac didn't do his megaphone part-he just talked into his headset..)Humm- Then they jammed "Look at You' and ended with the awesome "Summertime Blues"..It was soooo fab!
As far as fashion goes- ya know they looked awesome as usual. Isaac and Taylor both wore their hair in ponytails while Zac opted for his down and the attire was as follows: Isaac, black short sleeved shirt with black tee underneath and his brown leather pants, Taylor wore a white long sleeve button down shirt with white tee under ( only 1 choker was visible and a longer new looking cross necklace.. ) I notice he had on the same ring he was sporting on CBS this Morning -right hand ring finger (wonder what the story is behind that??)with blue jeans and he actually cut some of his tail off, it was much shorter! Zac had on a black short sleeves shirt with white trim around the neck and sleeves and red/orange and yellow army pants on (like the shirt he wore on CBS this Morning too) well folks I was pretty impressed I even remembered that much!
It was one of the best Hanson shows I ever saw-in fact it was since I got to meet them (that was my third show- including the Sam Goody appearance @Citywalk last year and their Hollywood Bowl show this July) I can' wait to see them on tour again and would love to hear from anyone who made it to the show! Hanson Hugs to all!
