Lennon's Star Returns Chris, a friend of mine, is about the most unlikely person I know to read The Economist, but he does so religously. Every so often he spreads the wisdom of that arcane folio of fiscal fact and fiction in my direction. Usually I mumble and try to sound intelligent, but this time I didn't have to. He wrote: Ian, Did you know that (this from this week's Economist) asteroid #4147 is called Lennon, and asteroid #4148 is called McCartney? (Asteroid #3834 is called Zappafrank). Chris ;-) I'm not sure what the question mark on McCartney means and I wonder why they had to qualify Zappa with frank. There couldn't be another Zappa, could there? I guess the question is: What took them so long? I mean, in my life time, *two* popes have called themselves John Paul. My fave was the woman who called her quads John, Paul, George and Ringo, despite the fact that they were all girls. Anyway, who knows when asteroid #4147 is coming by. Maybe he's coming back? And what's the purpose of #4148. McCartney's still here, isn't he? Or is this a new clue? ian =========================== guaranteED TO RAISe a smile |
