Instead of the Browser method, I recommend that you download and connect using a better client, mIRC. the instructions for that are here:
First click on this ZiRC.org link.
In the "Nick" section, enter an original nickname in the box. Try to think of one that is not obvious because if someone has it reserved, you may be disconnected or your nick changed for you to something like this undescriptive "Guest11593".
Change the Channel to #boston.org
Click the Login button. Your browser may prompt you to accept/install a download. Click yes if you want to continue.
The Java Client will open and try to connect.
The CGI Client is also interesting. There is a dropdown box under the CGI section that allows you to set it to look like miRC if you are familiar with it.
