MELODY MAKER September 8 1973
Cockney Rebel:"Sebastion" EMI
Good grief, the
lead vocals sound a dead
ringer for Peter Gabriel on
"Get Em Out By Friday"
but then Peter deliberately
adopts a cockney landlords
tortured tones for that
memorable piece, and these
lads are the genuine article
by all accounts. The lead
singer does a marvellous
job in delivering an intriguing
set of lyrics. They are
not immediately distinguishable
owing to the heavy
phrasing used on the vocal
track, but bear close
examination. The Rebel are a
very interesting band
indeed, and this has an
adventurous and unusual per? (performance?)
