The Early Years |
Fabrice was born in Paris, he had a normal upbringing and practiced being a breakdancer, in the mid-late 80's he moved to Munich, Germany. The first night was spent on the cold floor of the subway station. In Munich he met Robert Pilatus, a fellow breakdancer, the two quickly became best friends and decided to go into music. The Milli Vanilli Years: |
Rob & Fab auditioned in front of Frank Farian at Far Studios. He thought they had a horrible act, but had them listen to a song some of his studio singers just made called "Girl You Know It's True", they liked the single telling Farian that was their kind of music. Farian presented the single to American audiences who loved it. He later followed the single "girl you know it's true" with a full length album of the same title. The Album sold 17 Million Copies WorldWide! Rob & Fab followed with tours and promotions. Rob And Fab Found themselves spending as much as $60,000 a month. In 1990 they won the grammy for best new artist of 1989. Also that year they won 3 american music awards. |
Milli Vanilli Crashes Down |
On November 20th 1990 Milli Vanilli's secret was revealed, that same day Rob and Fab attended a press conference. The press planned to grill them but Rob and Fab managed to slip quite nicely. Rob and Fab attempted a studio album in 1992, the cd failed miserably and it sold little over 2,000 copies. |
Rebuilding Fab To Fabrice |
Fabrice Had little problems overcoming the Milli Vanilli disaster. Fabrice got back into music and has recently been touring and has been seen on "The RuPaul Show" and appeared on Vh1's "Behind The Music". He says he is happy now and hopes the world has forgiven him. |
