THE DANDYS "I WANNA BE LIKE YOU"

The Dandys are going to be the next big thing, or so the music press would have us believe. Billed as a cross between David Bowie and Suede they apparently have a 'refreshing new sound'. In my humble opinion, they certainly do. It's nice to finally hear something original from a northern band! Despite the release of their debut album only recently, The Dandys played a large amount of new material which continues in the same vein as their critically acclaimed 'Symphonic Screams' LP. However, highlights were definitely the older singles 'Dirty Weekend' and the gloriously dark 'You Make Me Wanna Scream'. Unfortunately, they omitted from their set the wonderful debut single 'I Wanna Be Like You' but last single 'English Country Garden' was there.

So NME reckon that the music industry's in decline? The obviously weren't counting on The Dandys then...
