Back in 85/84
during the height of Prince fervor I was flipping
through a cheap magazine
and happened upon a crude drawing of Prince
playing checkers in a cave.
In the accompanying article, the author related
the bizarre dream he had
of Prince which the illustration showed.
At the time, I had dreamed
of Prince a few times myself. In one instance I was seated
at a banquet table with members
of the Revolution. We were eating out of troughs.
Since then, I've had dozens
of dreams about The Artist aka Prince,
and was usually amazed by
the clarity and the very tangible Presence
conveyed by these subconscious
images of The Purple One.
From reading posts on various
mailing lists and from conversations with other Prince/
fan/friends about their own
dreaming experiences, I have noticed certain similarities.
For example, most of the
dreams involve the person meeting Prince/,
but being
unable to speak with him
or incurring his disapproval in some way.
The purpose of this site
is to amass personal accounts of dreams about Prince/
so that we can perhaps divine
a larger picture of the subconscious mind
of the Prince/
fan/friend and better understand the relation between
artist and admirer. Not to
mention it should be fun and quite amusing.
