They're all heart

The O.T.T lads, Niall, Glen, Adam and Alan kick off our Valentine's Day Special issue by getting us in a love mood...

Will you be sending any Valentine's cards this year?

Alan:

"I'll be sending one to my mother, like I do every year, but I intend to send another one too. I just haven't decided who to yet - I'm looking for the right girl to come along."

Glen:

"Just one to my mammy."

Adam:

"There's nobody special, but I'll be sending cards to my two favourite ladies - my mum and my best friend, Erica."

Niall:

"I hope to be sending some. I'm waiting for a last minute burst of inspiration. I can't think of anybody off hand but I'm sure when the day comes I'll think of someone."

What's the most romantic thing you've ever done?

Alan:

"On all the dates I've ever been on. I've always brought the girls flowers and choccies. When I was younger, I went out with a girl who's birthday was on Valentine's Day, so for her 21st birthday I got her 21 red roses."

Glen:

"I took one girl out for a romantic meal and then we went up to a place in Dublin called Howth Head, where you can see the whole of Dublin Bay. It was getting dark so we sat and watched the sun set and all the lights come up. It was beautiful.

Adam:

"A couple of years ago I was going out with a girl and I actually argused with her the day before Valentine's Day. We had this huge fight and she stormed off, but I did it on purpose, it was all part of my plan. The next day, when she woke up, there was half a flower shop waiting for her and loads of chocolates - she didn't know who they were from because we'd fallen out. Then I sent a car to pick her up and bring her to a lovely hotel near where I live on the coast. When she arrived I was sitting at a table with a single red rose, waiting for her. I wanted to make it extra surprising - but she slapped me! She soon forgave me though..."

Niall:

"Telling a girl I loved her and then singing The Troggs', 'Wild Thing, I Think I Love You' to her."

Are you in love at the moment? If so, tell us more...

Alan:

"Well, I'm in love with myself at the moment. Only joking! No, I'm not in love at the moment but I'd like to be. I envy people who are in relationships cos I've never actually been in a proper one myself - my longest was four months! But I really want to have girlfriend."

Glen:

"No, I'd like to be but I don't have time for a relationship, being in the band. We're never in the same place long enough."

Adam:

"I'm not in love either. I'm just in love with my work at the moment. I get so little free time, when I'm off I like to spend it with my family rather than out on the pull."

Niall:

"I'd love there to be. I don't think being in a band is stopping me from meeting the right person. I just haven't bumped into the Mrs Right yet. I don't think my job would get in the way if she was 'the one'."

Have you ever had your hear broken?

Alan:

"Yest, once when I was very young. It was the first time I ever thought I was in love and she dumped me on Valentine's Day! I turned up at her door with a card, flowers and everything, and she finished with me. It was the first time I ever cried over a girl."

Glen:

"Yes, but I believe I once broke someone else's heart."

Adam:

"Yes, but I don't like going into it ocs it still hurts. It was one of those things when you give everything to somebody, then they just close the door and leave you standing there."

Niall:

"I went out with a girl for five and a half years, and splitting-up with her kinda broke me up. It took a lot of getting used to."

How do you feel when you're in lurve?

Alan:

"I don't know if I've ever been in love. I suppose I was with one girl and I did feel brilliant at the time. All I thought about was her and I treated her like gold - then she broke my heart. Bitch!"

Glen:

"I don't believe I've ever been in love. I went out with a girl for three years but I don't think that was the real thing. It was more like being in lust."

Adam:

"I tend to go overboard and do too much. I give a lot of me. Somebody once told me I'm fun to be around when I'm in love and I'm not when I'm alone."

Niall:

"It makes you feel great, but it also makes you feel like you want to puke too. You get that churning feeling in your stormach!"

Have you ever sent a secret Valentine's card?

Alan:

"No, I'd rather the girl knew it was from me. I once got a completely secret Valentine's Card and to this day I don't know who it was from."

Glen:

"I did once when I was much younger. The girl never found out it was from me! I get loads of secret ones because I'm in a band. I do wonder who they're from, just in case it's Mag Ryan!"

Adam:

"Yeah, to a girl I know, Karen O' Neil, she now lives in Greece. I was only about ten at the time but it was the one that meant the most to me."

Niall:

"Actually I might send a secret Valentine this year, but I'll give her a bit of a clue it's from me. If it's meant to be, it'll be."
