    MORE EHEADS NEWS

Karina also mentions that the Eraserheads will be featured as the MTV-Asia Hot Seat artists this month, which means the band goes off to Singapore this September for taping of the segments. In addition, there's a live performance of "Julie TearJerky", the single from their new album "Aloha Milkyway", an all-English album slated for an Asia-only release. The live performance will be broadcast on the MTV Video Music Awards to be held in Los Angeles on September 11. It's unsure if the livbe performance will be beamed worldwide, but it's sure to get in the air during MTV-Asia's coverage of the event at least.

There's been some speculation about "Aloha Milkyway" being released in the Philippines for the band's Filipino fans. Karina says, "We're still deciding on whether or not it's a good idea to release it here considering only four songs in that album are new (the rest are old songs taken from the past albums -- like "with a smile" which will most likely be the 2nd single). There will surely be a demand but we don't want fans to feel short-changed."

Maybe so, Karina, but Pinoy fans will feel shortchanged at any rate if they don't get their grubby little hands on the new songs, especially if the video of "Julie tearJerky" starts to get heavy rotation on MTV-Asia, where it's now being aired. Perhaps BMG can be convinced to put out a four song EP with just the new stuff? Paging BMG's Vic Valenciano...
