Gary Pihl is one of my favorite guitar players and I was wondering how to achieve a pure guitar sound like Boston. I saw Boston at Pine Knob recently and thought the sound was excellent! I like a sound that isn't too grungy and I wonder if there is any ty e of equipment you would recommend?

i love boston, i've met tom scholz and jim masdea i have rockman equipment for my studio. if i was in a trench in a horrible war, and i heard boston music, it would give me comfort, as it has so many times thru the worst and best times in my life. "more than a feeling", is a song that never wears out!, i still discover new sounds i've not heard before in songs i've listened to for years! i have a great story about "somewhat accidentaly" meeting tom., but not sure how to share it. he is a very warm, kind spirit and i sure understand how such beautiful music comes from him. an idea for boston fans, we all "demand" a live cd !! i've heard a couple live songs, and it would be justified. regards to my "fellow boston fans"

I love Boston! Boston's style of "Power guitar rock" is the quentisential "feel good" music. I'm 25 years old and have been listening to their tunes for as far back as my memory goes (about 1979). I even had Barry Goudreau's 1980 solo album by the time I was twelve (1986). I regret to say that I didn't see them live in concert until their '94 "Livin' For You" tour. Just got internet today. Couldn't wait to look up Boston stuff. Web site is great. I've seen Boston on every tour since 1976. I met Brad Delp when he was with RTZ. I spoke to Tom Scholz and company on Rockline just prior to Walk On release. One of their n mber one fans. Have huge collection of things on them. They are a hard band to follow and keep track of, but I usually don't miss an article. This will definately help! Looking forward to keeping up on whats happening with new album and tour.
