Backstreet! BSB, what time is it? Its time to go to work ya'll! What king of work? Hard work, UH!!
The first introduction group was She Moves (which is the perfect name for that group because those gals can really move!). They sang 3 songs, including Breaking All The Rules, Just For Tonight, and Its Your Love, plus a special encore of Breaking All The Rules.
Then the second and last intro group came on, which was Los Umbrerros. I didn't remember them until I heard the last song they sang, which was No Tango Dienrio. They were pretty cool.
After they were done, there was a short intermission.
Then the lights dimmer once again and the crowd went WILD. They went even wilder when they heard the ever-so-famous phrase: "Everybody groove to the music. Everybody jam." The curtains parted.
And there they stood. Howie. AJ. Kevin. Nick. Brian. All in different colored athletic suits and jackets. Howie in red, with grey biker gloves. AJ in blue, with sun glasses over a sun visor (one of his MANY trademarks). Kevin in black, and a pair of black gloves. Nick in white, with his hair slicked back. Brian in yellow, along with a pair of black Nike gloves and a fitted, black baseball cap which he wore backwards.
Equipped with head-phone type mics, they sang the rest of We've Got It Going On. With dancing included, of course, which was cool. Now, wait, did I sawy "cool"? I meant awesome. Yeah. Thats better.
When each Boy came onstage and introduced themselves (as if they had to), Nick did (or should I say 'said'?) something that made everyone scream loud. Well, at least most of the girls screamed - especially the ones sitting behind me. My ears are still ringing, Anyway. He said, "And I will say one thing that will solve everything," then he points to the crowd and continues, "I love each and every one of you!"
Just before they did Anywhere For You, and while the other guys were getting into position, Kevin said that the guys wanted to dedicate this song to everyone in the audience - and as you may have guessed, everyone screamed.
After the music stopped for that song, they made their way back onto the stage from the platforms. I think I saw that nick sort of playfully pushed Brian in his back to kinda make him hurry up. But I'm not sure.
During I'll Never Break Your Heart, they had three girls from the audience come up onto the stage (some lucky gals, huh?). Which Brian and AJ sang lead, Kevin, Howie and Nicky entertained the audience and the girls on stage.
There were three tables set up, along with two chairs, one on either side. They lead the girls to the tables, and sat them down, then the Boys sat down in the other chair on the opposite side of the table. And they each acted like they were singing to the girl they had with them.
Tons of people had their eye on Nick - especially me. When Brian sang "I deserve I try, honey, just once, give me a chance and I'll prove this all wrong," Nick acted kinda goofy, getting the crowd to laugh/scream. He acted like he got a shot in the back or something, suddenly falling onto the table top, face down - during which, the girls behind me laughed. And I know I did too. THe girl Nick had with him was cracking up with laughter, while the girls Kevin and Howie had were dead serious, as were Kevin and Howie.
When Brian's part came up after the chorus ("and I know you're afraid to let your feelings show..."), the guys had to do a little dance with the girls. So, when nick and his girl had started dancing, EVERYONE screamed, (At least, I think everyone. I did!) And here's why: Nick held her close - and I mean C L O S E!
Just before the second chorus, the guys lead the girls offstage, and continued singing.
Hey Mr DJ was another song that they did. As if you couldn't tell already, AJ sings lead with his cool punkish style voice.
Of ocurse, they sang their first hit US single. The crowd was sort of quiet (very shocking!) and Brian said, "Hey Howie, why don't you introduce this next song?" Crowd got a little quieter...Until Howie spoke up in his high voice and said, "Well, it was out first single-" (Crowd going crazy. Music starting sofly.) "-Quit Playing Games With My Heart." (Crowd going even crazier! Girls behind me screaming like crazy. My ears hurting BAD!!)
They sang As Long As You Love Me last, and I nearly fainted (for like the 3rd time!). Especially when Nicky sang his verse. I just couldn't help myself.
I felt something tug at my gut once they went offstage. Myabe it was sadness, I dunno. BUT....I screamed (as did EVERYone else) when they rushed back on stage for the encore song of Everybody (Backstreet's Back)! That was the first time I had ever heard that song. (And of course the girls sitting behind me knew it and was singing the chorus before the concert, and I had NO clue wht they were singing. Friggin' Canadian album!)
When Nick's solo came up, I son't remember how, but he ended up lying flat on the floor of the stage right in front of the drummer. he stayed lying there, singing "So everybody everywhere. Don't be afriad, don't hav no fear. I'm gonna tell the world, make it understand. As long as they're be music, we'll be coming back again." Then back up he comes and finishes
the song with the rest of the guys.
Brian was the ONLY one to sign an autograph, just one though. After the last sing while everyone else was heading offstage, Briand crouched down the shake the hands of some girls along the stage, and he then sign an autograph for one girl. Then he ran to join Nick walking offstage. Once B-Rok was out of sight, I looked down at the girl who had gotten the autograph and she was facing her friends and screaming and jumping so much.
After the concert(which ended WAY too quickly), I stood in a loooooong line to get a souvenir from the concert. All I had on me was $10, and the cheapest thing they had was a program, which was $12. So mom gave me two more bucks and I bought it. (Pictures = SWEET!)
