THE CRITICS PAGE

We've all heard the term, "everybody's a critic."  You know what?  I think that's a good thing.  If people didn't have opinions, this planet would be a pretty boring place to live.  This page is reserved for those opinions made about the CD from various sources.  I specifically plan on using comments and reviews that have been in print.

SID DIED FOR SQUID
Anatomically Incorrect
(Independent)
SDFS is undoubtedly the best band to come out of Kitimat since the equally amusingly named Frank Soda.  They blast out mid-tempo pop punk laden with all the short, sharp hooks that make this genre so well loved.  Variety is provided by a couple of faster, straight-ahead - though still catchy - songs and of course the eternally necessary, country-punk tune.

Alcan-funded scientists have proven that repeated listenings to this CD cannot be linked to an increased incidence of cancer in the pop-punk population, so you have no excuse not to indulge.  Grab a copy from the usual stores and celebrate the fact that you don't live in Northern BC (the obtuse should note that these songs satirise the ignorance prevalent in the North, rather than indulge in it).

SID DIED FOR SQUID
Anatomically Incorrect
Sid Died For Squid is a punk band from Northwest British Columbia. They have been rockin' for about four years now and are still kickin' out the jams!

The band finally put out there first album (Anatomically Incorrect) about two years ago. The trip to makin' the album was a long, twisting and turning one. They played shows at local clubs and tried to get the band heard as much as possible. The band went through six line up changes and finally decided to record a CD. Just their luck, their practice space burned down shortly after the release of Anatomically Incorrect. They kind of died out for a while, but they are back and better than ever!

Anatomically Incorrect includes ten great tracks including: Punk Heart, Purple, and Hard-On For Love. Those are just a few of the great songs on this CD.

If you like Limp and the Mad Caddies then you will love Sid Died For Squid.
