Hanson history class

The Hanson phenomenom is a story unparalleled by any other youthful band(such as The New Kids from the long ago 80's) Their debut album, MIDDLE OF NOWHERE, and a Christmas album entitled SNOWED IN, sold for over a combined 12 million copies. Since conquering the American music scene, Hanson has gone on a worldwide tour, including a stop in Australia that drew an estimated 20,000 fans - in a parking lot.

The musical roots of the Hanson brothers can be traced back to 1990 when their father took his family to South America. Away from the American culture,, the brothers sat and listened to the Time-Life anthologies, 1957-1969, the golden oldies that shadows.

It was in a music conference in Austin, Texas(1994) where the boys first got their big break. They stopped Christopher Sabec on his way to lunch and did a quick preformance for him. He was immediately blown away. And in no time, the three brothers from Tulsa signed with Sabec and sent a demo tape of their music to thousands of scouts. One of those demo tapes landed on Steve Greenberg's desk, a talent scout for Mercury Records, and the rest is history. They had a number one single, MMMBOP, and an album that was in the top ten on the charts. They've also found international fame.

Hanson grabbed an Oscar nominated director Gus Van Sant to direct on of their videos.(Weird) They notched a first place ranking on the VILLAGE VOICE PAZZ AND JOP POLL, and released an album of previously unrealesed tracks from their two independent records Boomerang(1995) and MMMBop(1996) That album is entitled THREE CAR GARAGE, which is where the boys recorded those early tracks.

Hanson is proof that with hard work, determination, and talent(which they're not lacking) anything is possible, and they don't plan on letting us forget it!!
