ELECTRIC LADYLAND 
When released in the UK, Electric Ladyland created a big fuss, because the cover showed lots of young women holding pictures of Jimi (and the cover of Axis:Bold As Love). Many stores sold the record in brown paper bags, and some even refused to sell it at all. This was a publicity stunt Jimi did not know of, and he did not like that the artwork took the public eye away from the music. Also, he had made the record company spesific information about how he wanted the cover to look. His requests was not followed in neither Britain nor USA. But the stunt worked as intended: it established the Experience's image as outlaws. Here, you may see Jimi's suggestions, and the final cover layout (in USA).
