31 January 2003, 

       Okay, I am still sitting 2 rides away from my Final Contact checkride.  I have been DNIF for 2 weeks, with a head cold.  I have been able to go to the simulator, and have had 5 sims 5 days.  I am off DNIF now, and should check, weather permitting, next Wednesday.  I was the person furthest ahead, with regards to the schedule, 2 weeks ago, now I am in the bottom half.   Either way, I am ready to get this checkride over with.

          Good news, we got a brand new puppy.   He is the greatest, lots of work, but fun none the less.  His name is Major.  Yeah, yeah, real original.  Whatever, we love having him and all the trouble he is causing. 

          On a sad note, we have lost 2 people in our class due to poor performance.  One of them is getting a 2^nd chance and the other is gone for good.  The commander…….
