Okay, well it has been a week or so since I have written last.   A lot has happened since then.   The last week was bloody to say the least.   Yes, just to get it out of the way, I hooked a ride.   The ride before my end of the block, I almost over-sped my landing lights after a straight-in approach.   I feel kinda dumb for it, but hey, that’s what I am here for.  To learn that is.

The reason that I say last week was bloody is that, something like 12 out of 16 rides hooked this week.   DOH.  I personally believe that it was a conscious effort of the IP’s to raise the bar a wee bit, and we were left in the wake of that.   It’s all good though.  I will persevere.   A little embarrassment never hurt anyone.

For those who don’t know, you bust a ride when you don’t have a very good flight.  IE, you don’t perform up to standard.  You may or may not bust for certain things, however, there are some things that simply cannot be overlooked.   Over-speeding anything is not good, being off of your altitude, being unsafe, making boned-up radio calls, improper maneuvers, etc etc.   So, when you get here, be conscious of your flying and you should do fine.  Supposedly, busting a ride is common for everyone at least sometime in their career.   Don’t be surprised if it happens to you, but just try not to.   Okay, enough of that.

I should solo this week, if the weather cooperates, so that should be fun.  Except now, the dunk-tank is about 40 degrees.   So, after a good solo flight, your body goes into shock as you are thrown into a tank of freezing water.  Yipee, who cares, it’ll be fun.   I’ll be sure to post a picture of it when it happens.
