Alexandria slept beside her sister for the rest of the night. She told Joseph and their mother that Ana was feeling a little under the weather so they wouldn't find out about the incident earlier. The next morning, Lexa woke up to find Ana still sleeping.
"Ana?" she said gently shaking her.
"Hmm?" Ana mumbled and slowly opened her eyes.
"How do you feel?"
"Ok I guess."
Lexa brushed the stray hairs from Ana's face and got up.
"Mother and Joseph don't know so try and act normal around them today and you should wear something with long sleeves to cover the bandage, and..."
"Lexa," Ana interrupted.
She got up and went and hugged Lexa.
"Thank you."
"What did you expect--you're my little sister," Lexa said smiling.
"I love you Lexa."
"I love you too--now we need to get ready before they start to miss us."
Ana and Lexa got cleaned up and dressed. They walked up on deck to go eat some breakfast.
"Oh no," Ana said.
"What?"
"It's Nicki."
Lexa looked up ahead to see Nicki headed in the same direction as they were.
"I'm going to walk around some, I'll meet you later," Ana said walking away.
"Are you sure you'll be okay?" Lexa called after her.
"I'll be fine."
Lexa didn't think Ana should be alone right now but she went on to breakfast anyway.
Ana walked to the very top deck of Titanic. She stood near the railing and breathed in the fresh ocean air. She looked over the horizon as the sun glistened off the water. A tear streamed down her face but was dried by the chilly air. Ana couldn't believe she almost died. She couldn't even remember her reasons clearly but just seeing the clear ocean water is enough of a reason to live. She smiled to herself and for a split second, she was truly content.
Justin had never seen a girl like her before. He sat on the bench and continued sketching the beautiful woman in front of him. Her long black hair was fell to the middle of her back and blew in the wind. Justin began to sketch the curves of her body that you could see even through the fancy dress she had on. She hadn't noticed him but he liked sketching people who were oblivious to his presence--it made it even more realistic. Ana snapped out of her peaceful daze and felt eyes on her. She turned around to see a young man looking at her intensely. His stare made her uncomfortable and she walked away. She also found the stranger mysterious and intriguing and she couldn't help to look back at him. He was still looking at her and she turned around quickly. Justin gathered his things and ran after the exotic stranger. He caught up to her but didn't know what to say.
"Um, excuse me miss."
Ana turned around and stared into a pair of deep blue eyes identical to her own. Ana stayed composed although it was hard. He had short curly brown hair, deep ocean blue eyes, and a bright smile.
"I'm sorry if I intruded on your 'moment'."
"You know it's very rude to stare at people and what were you doing anyway?" Ana said motioning to the book he was carrying.
"Oh, I was just drawing you; you see," he showed Ana what he had drawn of her so far.
"I guess it's pretty good."
"Well, when such beauty walks into my presence, I have to take the opportunicy."
Ana unknowingly blushed but stayed serious.
"So, do you have a name, young artist?"
"Sorry--my name's Justin Timberlake and you are?"
"Anastasia Whitman."
"That's a beautiful name."
"You don't have to keep complimenting me Mr. Timberlake."
"Well, I feel if one deserves it then what harm does it do?"
"You wouldn't say that if you really knew me."
"Is that an invitation to do so then?"
"You're not that charming," Ana said raising her eyebrow.
"Think of it as an opportunity to try something new. I'm sure you don't usually mingle with people from my 'class'."
Ana was skeptical about Justin but probably because she thought he was really interesting.
"Okay then; I suppose it couldn't hurt," she said smiling.
They walked along the deck talking and getting to know eachother. Justin told her how he ended up in Europe and about his life in general. Ana did the same but, of course, didn't mention what happened the night before. She never really talked to anyone in a lower class and after talking to Justin, she wish she had. They were so enthralled with eachother that they didn't notice the pair of eyes watching them.
