Part Two

Laurie and Maggie had been in Paris for a little over a week. Laurie was having the best time of her life. Being away from everything, including Justin, had allowed her to clear her head and really enjoy her life.

"Hey Laurie, you almost ready?"

"Yeah, one second," she called from her room.

Maggie's father was French and owned a villa in Paris. Laurie walked out of her room and downstairs.

"It's about time, they're suppose to be here any minute now."

"I'm not so sure about this Mag…I fell like I'm going behind Justin's back."

"Look Laurie, we're leaving in two days, these guys are great, and it's not like you're going to run off and get married or something."

"I guess your right…" Laurie was interrupted by the doorbell ringing.

"Well, let's go girl!" Mag said dragging Laurie to the door.

She opened it and 2 very hot French guys stood in the doorway. "Mademoiselle Maggie…" Frances, one of the guys said, kissing Maggie's hand.

Maggie giggled and wrapped her arm in his. Laurie stared at her date. They had met before but she still couldn't get over how gorgeous he was. His name was Louis, he had very dark brown wispy hair that he occasionally brushed out of his bright green eyes, he was tall and had an nicely toned body. Laurie scolded herself for having those thoughts.

"It's nice to see you again Louis." "It's always a pleasure to see you Laurie…shall we?" he said offering his arm to her.

"Yes, we shall."

They 2 couples went to eat in the restaurant at the top of the Eiffel Tower, then they went for a walk around the city. The night was wonderful and Louis was the perfect gentleman, but Laurie couldn't get Justin off her mind. Maggie had gone off with her date and Louis and Laurie were left standing in the middle of a bridge. Laurie looked down to see the moon's reflection off the surface of the river.

I find it hard to explain
It's crazy, but it's happening
And I'm falling again
Much farther than I've ever been
I'm falling deeper than the ocean
I am lost in this emotion

"Laurie…Laurie?" Louis reached up and touched her shoulder.

"Huh…oh, sorry."

"What are you thinking about?"

"Oh, nothing."

"He must be a pretty special guy."

"What?"

"Your lover."

"How…"

"I had the same look when I was a part from my girlfriend…we separated a few months ago and Frances insisted I get back out and date."

"I understand that completely…when I broke up with my last boyfriend, I thought I could never possibly love again, but then Justin opened my heart again…things have been kinda bad between us…I don't know what I'd do if I lost him too."

Louis placed his hands on top of hers and smiled. "I know he loves you very much Laurie and I'm sure you tell eachother that all the time, but have you two really expressed how you feel?"

"What do you mean?"

"Tell him Laurie…don't just let it go, otherwise it'll just pass you by."

Laurie smiled and thanked Louis. They stood on the bridge for a little while longer and then he walked her home. He walked her to her door and she unlocked it.

"I had a great time Louis...thank you for the night and everything else."

"I'm glad I could help…I'll miss you Laurie…now go and claim your happiness!"

He smiled and kissed her cheek. Laurie walked inside and went directly to the phone. She found herself holding her breath as she dialed Justin's number and listened to it ring.

"Hello?" a groggy voice on the other end said.

"Justin?"

"Laurie…what's wrong?" Justin said sitting up in his bed.

"Nothing, I just needed to talk to you…sorry for waking you."

"No, it's okay…so what did you want to talk about?"

"Justin…I'm sorry…for everything; you know I love you but it's more than that…I want you to know that you are the most important thing in my life and if I ever hurt you in any way, I'm sorry because you are my heart and will forever have my love."

It was silent on the other in for a minute. "Laurie, I love you too and thank you."

"For what?"

"For loving me that much…and I'm sorry for not paying enough attention to our relationship…you're my world and that will NEVER change."

Laurie felt a tear roll down her cheek. She knew Justin was speaking from his heart and she finally realized a great truth: no matter how many trials are put in the way, anyone can have happiness when they realize that all the things love brings, outweighs whatever it might take away.

Love breaks and love divides
Love laughs and love can make you cry
I can't believe the ways
That love can give
And love can take away
