Justin and Lindsay looked at eachother in silence for a few minutes. Everyone else had left the room to give them some time alone. Justin finally swallowed his pride and spoke up.
“So, how have you been?”
“Good, and you?”
“That's Good.”
There was another awkward moment of silence until Lindsay couldn’t take it anymore. She had so much to say to Justin and she was going to finally get it all out in the open.
“Look Justin, I’m not going to lie to you; it was really hard at first…I couldn’t stop thinking about you for a long time.”
“And now?”
“Now…I’m finally getting my life together and dealing with you not being in it.”
“Oh…”
“What about you?”
“Well…”
Before Justin could finish his sentence a girl walked in from him bedroom. Lindsay watched as she crossed the room over to them and wrapped her arms around Justin’s neck, planting a kiss on his cheek.
“Hey baby, aren’t you going to introduce me?” she said sweeping her moving one of her long red curls out of her face. Her green eyes looked at Lindsay critically. Justin looked at her and then back at Lindsay.
“Linz, this is Nina…”
“His girlfriend,” she added.
Lindsay didn’t say anything…she just looked down at the ground.
“Hey, can you give us a minute?” Justin said to Nina.
“Alright, I’ll be waiting,” she said seductively and walked back into Justin’s bedroom.
“Linz, let me explain…”
“No, it’s obvious that your heart heals quicker than mine.” Lindsay stood up and began to walk to the door.
“Wait Linz, it’s not what you think.”
“Oh then what the hell is it Justin!?” she yelled, “Did our relationship mean nothing to you or was the love between us not real?”
“You know that’s not it, I just…”
“Save it! I should’ve never come here, I should’ve known there was nothing left between us!”
“I don’t love her Linz, I still love you like I always have!”
“So that’s why you’re fucking that slut?!”, she yelled grabbing her purse, “just forget it, tell Lisa I’ll see her later.”
She walked out of the door and Justin was left in the living room. He hated himself for being such an idiot. He was a wreck after splitting with Lindsay and found comfort in Nina’s arms. He didn’t love her but he was also ashamed for using her to help ease his pain. Yes, he slept with her, but there was nothing behind it…just purely physical. Now for the second time in his 19 years of life, Justin felt completely lost and alone…there was no way he could ever get Lindsay back and that hurt him more than anything ever could.
Lindsay ran out of the hotel and flagged down a taxi. She cried all the way back to her apartment. She couldn’t believe what just happened. She came to the realization that Justin and her would never be together again…he had moved on and now she had to. However, she also knew in her heart he was the only one for her.

So how can I mend a broken heart?
Tell me, baby
And how do I make a brand new start, baby?
How do I learn to love again,
When all I do is think of all we planned,
And imagine we could someday make it right?
I dreamed you called my name
And arose to see that everything had changed.
