Sembrava relativamente facile trovare notizie su un artista che ci ha regalato un hit indimenticabile come Tarzan Boy, invece... Nella sezione "italianissimi" dello Special Trash pubblicato da TheMusicNet si dice che Baltimora era un italiano, Maurizio Bassi. Cercando sue notizie con l'aiuto di Alejandro Dini, abbiamo ritrovato Maurizio Bassi nell'entourage di Eros Ramazzotti, nonché come arrangiatore dei Ricchi e Poveri (Buona Giornata) ed in una pagina (oggi scomparsa) su Silvia Salemi.
Però però... andando all'estero le cose cambiano parecchio: da molte fonti risulta che Baltimora fosse in realtà il cantante nordirlandese Jimmy McShane, nato il 23 maggio 1957 e morto, dolorosamente, di AIDS all'inizio degli anni '90. La notizia della sua morte sembra essere stata data in prima istanza da MTV, mentre su Internet sono disponibili le seguenti testimonianze:

- una risposta data ad un lettore della rubrica Billboard Chart Beat Chat
- una scheda nella sezione degli artisti scomparsi stilata da 80music.about.com

Passando alle cose chiare, Tarzan Boy tra il 1985 ed il 1986 ebbe grande successo in Europa, piazzandosi ai primi posti nelle classifiche italiana ed inglese. L'album da cui era tratto l'hit-single si chiama Living in the Background ed è del 1985. Tutte le canzoni sono state scritte dalla coppia Maurizio Bassi-Naimy Hackett, mentre Jimmy McShane figura tra i cantanti. Negli USA il singolo ha ricevuto grande attenzione in quanto è stato adottato in uno spot commerciale e nella colonna sonora del film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III.
