First of all we will go back in time and I will ask you some questionsabout Slugfest. You write in the Sugfest album "Slugfest broke up very abruptly" can you tell me what happen?

Slugfest came to a halt when Tim Redmond (drummer) went to join Snapcase. Hewas trying out for Snapcase without letting any of us know about it. It all oupset me since I was good friends with snapcase. Things were just starting to take off for Slugfest with a 7" being released on Chris Logan from Chokehold's record label. Tim & I were good friends and it was hard for me to understand the situation.

When you did the reunion show did all the original members played the show?

At the reunion show we had 3 of the 4 original members. Plows, who played basson the 7" has long since moved out of town. We had Matt Dente play bass for us at the show. He also played bass on the first 4 songs on the cd. that Initial records put out. I thought he cared the most about doing it, and that meant alot to me.

Did alot of people shown up for the show?

Yeah. It was amazing! Slugfest had never played a show as great as the reunion. We were also in great company with bands like Hatebreed as well which made it that much better. The head count was around 500 people. There was alot of old faces that came out of the woodwork to see us that night. It was great to have all those people back and singing along with those who never gotto see Slugfest.

Cuz, when I went to Buffalo to see the Rev Tour and there was only 150 peoples and I was excpecting more then that. Maybe it`s because people in Buffalo aren`t interested anymore in old school, do you have any explication for that?

I don't think that Buffalo isn't interested in old school. I think a lot of the reason for a poor turnout was poor advertising. The promoter for that isn't used to doing h.c. shows. He would normally do more rockin' stuff like Hum and stuff like that. He didn't seem to care as much as a h.c. kid promoting the show would've. With the exception of Battery, it was the firsttime any of those bands played in Buffalo. Most bands do better in Buffalo the 2nd time they play here as they probably do in most scenes. Buffalo sucks because most kids won't dance for bands if they haven't seen them before.

Now we will get back to present. What did you do between the end of Slugfest and the beginning of Buried Alive?

Between then I did a band called Despair. I spent 3-4 years of my lifededicating it to the band. We were very lucky to go on to do some touring at even hit Europe twice. After an album & 2 7"s' we decided to call it quits and put out one last 7". Not everyone was into it and I wanted to do a band that everyone was into. Some people had to much going on with school while others had outside interests.

What do you talk about in your song call "6 months face"?s.

Six Month Face is about people who come into the scene and do whatever it takes to get noticed. Maybe they become vegan, start a zine or a band, and then six months later you see the same personeating meat or doing the next thing to fit in with a new crowd. I'm sure everyone has seen people like this in their scene. When hardcore means so muchto me, it upsets me to see people use it as a tool to try and fit in and besomeone that they're not.

Did you get hooked by Victory shortly after you release your demo tape?

We were very lucky for Victory to take interest in our band in such a shorttime. We all made a commitment from the start that this band was going to bethe most important thing in their lives. We worked hard on our songs & were lucky enough that Victory saw this in our demo tape. We were also lucky enough to be able to play the "Krazy Fest" in Louisville last year and some Victory people saw us there and things kind of took off from there. Scott Sprigg & I have known Tony for a couple of years now so it made talking to Victory a little easier.

Do you think that the fact that you played in Despair and Slugfest before, make more people look at Buried Alive, then if it was your firstband?

I think that my 2 previous bands had people paying more attention to this band. At the same time, it also made all of us work harder. Everyone wanted this to be better than those bands. We didn't want Buried Alive to get drained out by comparisons to those bands and end up not measuring up. We spent more time on writing quality songs. Everyone tried to get some of the best equipment possible to help out our overall sound as well. We want to be known as Buried Alive and not another one of those ex-member bands.

What are your future plan?

Well we just had a limited edition 7" come out which we're very excited about. We're playing as much as possible. Every weekend we're playing out of town getting ready for the release of our album. "The death of your perfect world"comes out April 20 and then we're getting ready for a summer tour around July.We may be going out with Reach the Sky. Another great new band on Victory. We've dedicated our lives to this band. As soon as the album is out, we'll be spending most of our time packed in a van driving from city to city.

Are you able to afford living just by playing music or you have to get an other job to afford living?

We all still need to work jobs. Scott just took a demotion at his job actually. He wasn't able to work on the weekends anymore, & that led to a demotion. It's the only way we know how to live. Playing is what we want to do, so we work crappy jobs to pay the bills. Some how it's all worth it when you get to play a show with kids singing along, dancing, and having a great time.

What did you think of Earth Crisis who left Victory to sign on Roadrunner and now their cd is sold 15$ instead of 12$?

I think that Earth Crisis was very fortunate to get that opportunity. They are some of the best people in the hardcore scene. They definitely deserve it more than any band I can think of right now. They have such a positive message to spread, and the label change could help them spread their message. I would've liked to seen them on Victory since they helped build Earth Crisis. The bandand the label have both grown together ever since the release of the"firestorm" 7". I think Victory would've cared more about the band and the record than Roadrunner.

Any final words?

Look for the album at your favorite record stores. Also look out for Reach the Sky, and All Out War. We're not a sxe band, but we all support the veganlifestyle. If you're not already a part of this, please look into it.Vegetarians, you're almost there, try & take the next step. We would just like to say thanks to everyone who takes the time to listen to us and give us a chance. We appreciate it. Without you we're nobody.
