Neverending Love, written by "Jeny"
- part 6 -

Marie opened her eyes and looked around. Morning had sneaked up on them and she lay next to Per with his arm drapped over her. She let out a deep sigh and thanked God it wasn't just a dream. She was really with him and they had spent the most wonderful night together. She looked over at the clock on the nightstand to see the time, 7:19 AM. Slowly, so as not to wake Per, she crawled out of bed. On the floor she saw the pile of clothing as she searched for something to wear. She saw the white long sleeved shirt that Per had been wearing the day earlier and slipped it on, along with her panties. Once she buttoned the shirt, she took a deep sniff. It smelled of his Channel for men and of his own manly scent, a scent that drove her wild with desire for him. She quietly searched through her bags and found her toothbrush and other hygiene products. In the bathroom, she fixed herself up then headed back into the bedroom, still wearing Per's shirt. She looked over at him and saw how peacefully he was sleeping. Quickly, Marie headed for her bags and took out a drawing book and a pencil. Sitting on the chair that was in the room she began to draw Per. She started by sketching his face and locks of his hair, falling upon his eyes. She went on to draw his lips, and the slight stubble that lay around that area. Then to his partially naked body, only covered by the sheets that lay over him. She noticed his loss of weight and worried that it may have been do to his obssession with her. She sighed deeply, closed her eyes then went on drawing. On his back were the marks that her nails had left on him the night before. She had scratched him, and the fiery trails were left there to proove it. Suddenlly, growing weak, she stopped and put the drawing book on the floor, then walked upstairs to the kitchen. Marie didn't want to have breakfast without Per, so she just made a cup of coffee then walked outside, out to the balcony to see the sun rising through the pine trees.

A few minutes later, Per woke up to find himself alone in the bedroom. "Marie?..." He said in a sultry voice, thick with desire from the dream he had awakened from. "Marie!?.." He said again, this time a hint of fear in his voice. He sat in the corner of the bed and gathered his thoughts for a moment. He reasured himself that this was not just a dream. That nothing that intense could be the result of a dream. Could it? No! It was impossible, no dream could possibly stir those type of feelings in him. He then thought back to the dream that got him into this situation in the first place. Quickly he got up and searched through the pile of clothes to find his boxer shorts. Sliping them on, he raced up the stairs to find Marie.

His heart nearly jumped out of his chest when he saw her standing outside. She was just standing there, looking out at the majestic view. She was wearing his shirt. That caused something to stir in him, something he had to control or making love to her, then and there, would be inevitable. He took in a sharp breath, realizing that he had been holding his breath the whole time. As if any move he made she could hear from the outside.

As Marie let herself drown in her souroundings, she didn't realize Per had stepped outside. She set her coffee mug on the wood railing and looked down. It was a long way down from the top of that mountain. She couldn't help but shiver at the thought of someone falling so many feet. Just then she felt two arms wrap around her, then warm lips placed a soft kiss on her neck. She loved when he did that. It brought back so many memories. "Hmm... Good Morning," He said in a voice still grogy from sleep, yet sensual in an enticing way. "Good Morning," She said back to him then rested her body against his, wrapping her arms around his.

"This is beautiful isn't it?," Per told her, while he held her to him.
"Yes." She Began, "this place very beautiful and peaceful."

Per smiled, then he knew that if he never made love to her again, if he never kissed her again, if he never got intimate with her again, he would forever love her. After the wave of heat that surged through him passed, the chill of the cold weather hit him and he shivered. Marie noticed this and turned to face him. She quickly noticed the only thing covering his body were his boxer shorts.

"Per you are going to freeze to death out here!," She told him eccstatically. "God knows I can't take watching your body frozen again."

Per responded with a smile and a soft, yet intimate kiss on her lips. She really did care for him. He caught his breath and wondered just how much pain she suffered the day he appeared at her home, frozen and batered by the torture he had given himself. He remembered awakening and seeing two worried eyes looking back into his.

He reluctantly broke the kiss then allowed Marie to take him back inside. After she closed the sliding glass door, he swept her into his arms and kissed her again, this time a little harder. That kiss sent Marie reeling and she then kissed him back, wanting more and more.

Between kisses Per whispered to her, "If... we... keep this... up.. we.. may as well... not get dressed for the.. rest of our.. time here."

She giggled at his comment but kept kissing him. God, how she wanted him! This weekend was definatlly not going to be enough for her. She wanted more from him something like a child longing to live out their favorite fairytale. She dreamt of this moment so many times, and now he was finally with her, loving her, wanting her with the same intensity she felt for him. It seemed like the time had haulted for the two of them. As if no one exsisted in this earth except the two of them. Often, while they were recording in Spain, she fantizied about him. She had the wildest impulse to make love to him right there in the studio. To kiss him infront of everyone and show that what most of the fans thought, was true. She wanted so much, to walk hand in hand with him in the beaches back home and to be a normal couple, maybe even, husband and wife. She hated herself for walking out on him years earlier. If she hadn't had done that, she was possitive that they would have been sharing more than music together. They would have been sharing their lives. She sighed heavily and that caught his full attention.

"Marie, what's wrong?" He questioned with a frown.
"N-n-nothing," She stuttered, shaken from his kisses and her wild imagination.
"Are you sure?" He insisted, looking somewhat hurt.
"Yes, I was just thinking that in a few days all this will end."
Per kissed her softly then said, "Yes, but at least we have these few days." With that, he left her to get dressed. The chill of the house had finally gotten to him.

When he finally returned, wearing a pair of blue jeans and a long sleeved black t-shirt, he found her cooking breakfast for the two of them. Quickly he joined her in the kitchen. "Go and get dressed, I'll finish here." He said, after nuzzling at her neck.

"Are you sure you won't burn the place down?" She teased him as he took the task from her.
"Now, really Marie... Have I ever been that bad of a cook?" He replied in a teasing tone that had to make her laugh.
"Well there was that one time you nearly burned my kitchen down." She said with a grin. Per looked at her and cocked an eyebrow "Well as I recall that was your fault. It wouldn't have happend if you weren't seducing me on your sofa."

Marie laughed his good memory. "You remembered!" Per smiled and pop kissed her. "Of course I do.... that was too funny to forget!" He said while chuckling.

She hugged him, then went downstairs to get dressed. When she came back up, with a happy smile on her face, he had the table set.

"Wow," She began, "You have everything ready to go!" Per looked at her and smiled. "Yeap, everything at your disposal madam." He told her in a deep voice.
Marie laughed then went to sit down, as Per pushed in the chair for her. He then walked around and sat across from her. She saw him wince when his back settled against the chair. "Ow," He complained.

"What's wrong?" Marie said, looking at him with a bewildered look. She watched as Per walked over to the mirror that was hanging above the living room sofa. He pulled up the back of his shirt to notice the sratches on his back. "Jesus! I knew you had scratched me, but I didn't imagine this!"

Marie quickly got up and looked at his back, she didn't think she'd scratched him that hard! "Oh my God, Per I am so sorry!" Per pulled his shirt down and smiled, then told her, "Its ok, I don't mind a little pussy cat scratch." Marie laughed at the remark, "Your wife won't be too thrilled at your pussy cat scratches, or did you even think about that?"

Per sighed, "Marie, I don't want to worry about that until we are back home. Please, let's not bring up our spouses." Marie noticed there was pain in his voice. She feared that this affair would be the end of him. He had been in such emotional distress and it hurt Marie to know that most of his problems had to do with her. Reluctantly, she replied, "I'm sorry... I didn't mean to bring it up."
Per looked at her and grinned. "Good," he said then led her back to the breakfast table. While having breakfast, they talked about the new album and songs they wanted to choose.

After breakfast, they decided to drive the jeep down off the mountain, and to the shops nearby. For most of the day, Marie dragged Per through the quaint shops in the city. Per found it amusing and laughed the different dresses that she tried on for him at one of the stores. He particularly liked a long, black evening gown that she tried on. "You look gorgeous," He told her, his eyes gleaming at the sight of her. A devilish grin curled on his lips as she modeled the dress for him.

"Per, I Love this dress!" She said ecstatically, noticing his grin.
Per got up and stood behind her as she looked herself in the mirror. "Well then, buy it." He told her, then wrapped his arms around her waist.
"How would it look if I went back home with a new evening gown when we were supposed to be working!?"
Per chuckled then told her, "Normal, It would look perfectly normal. Do you expect them to believe that we went to New York and NOT go shopping?" She turned around to face him.
"True... so very true." She checked herself in the mirror once more then eyed him through the mirror. "So what do you think?... How does it look on me?" Per sighed and then took in another deep breath befor saying, "Beautiful... you should wear it this Christmas or for the 31st."
"Hmmm...I am going to buy it!" She finally decided with a smile. "But what about you? Aren't you going to get anything?"
"Hmmm..." He said, pondering her question. "I don't know what to get." He said, frowning. Marie giggled then wrapped an arm around the crook of his. "Well... I think you should get a new suit or maybe even a modern tuxedo. We'd look good together."
"Yes we would." Per replied as Marie went back to the dressing room to undress. After a while, he continued, "Maybe we can throw a big party for new years eve?"

Then Marie came out wearing her jeans, blouse and jacket. She quickly went over to Per and whispered in his ear. "Maybe we could just spend it together, just you and I."
With that, Per took her in his arms and kissed her. "I think I like that idea, but it would be too hard to pull off."
Marie frowned then said, "Yes, but it is a nice fantasy." She followed the comment with a grin.

After purchasing some things at the shop Marie and Per decided to go to dinner. Night time had already fallen and they needed some hot food in their system to warm them up.

The waitress sat the two of them in a table towards the back of the restaurant so no one would disturb them, just as Per requested. Marie looked around and liked the thought of them two dinning alone. When the waitress came back Per ordered a bottle of red wine. "Do you think we'll do well in the States?" Marie asked as Per poured her a glass of wine. Per kept pouring, "Hmmm.... maybe. If we get the right people to market us here." When he was done he poured some for himself. "'Wish I Could Fly'" might make it here, we turned on the radio and all we heard were ballads. I think we have one HUGE chance." She said with a grin. Per sighed and put down the bottle of wine. "Marie, let's not talk buissness and lets not talk about our spouses, we came here to be with eachother. To get to know eachother again. I want to know about you and all the things I missed out on in these years." Per told her honestly.

Marie looked straight into his eyes and couldn't help but smile. Per stared back at her and asked, "Have I missed out on much? I know that after all the touring and all we seemed to lose eachother. We may have had some arguements... but we remained friends... Didn't we?"

Marie looked at him and couldn't help but feel hurt at the look in his eyes. A look of desperation and pain lurked behind his child-like eyes. "Per," She began, "Ever since we got married and started our families we lost touch. There was one point that all we had to bring us together was Roxette. It only became about the music and not..."

"Us..." Per said finishing for her. "I know, I became too preoccupied in the buissness and didn't realize I was losing what I had left of a relationship with you." Slowly Per reached across the table and took her hand. "Marie... I am so sorry. I didn't realize how much I was losing you until I started having all these feelings for you again."

"There's nothing for you to be sorry for. We both screwed up." She told him while squeezing his hand slightly. Per smiled at her then sighed. "I wish I could take back all that happened." He said then paused for a while still looking at her. "If we weren't ment to be, then I just wish we would have remained best friends....." Per sat back and sighed. "It shocked me when I found out that you were pregnant with Josefin." Marie nearly choked on the wine she was drinking when he mentioned her daughter. "Shocked?... Why shock?" she said, fear hinting in her voice.

"Well, I thought you and I were good friends. I would have like to have know what was going on with you. I seemed to have been the last person to know you were pregnant. I didn't tell you at the time, but that hurt me." He sighed one more time then added, "I kind of guessed that you were pregnant. I saw you undressing one night, after a show, and saw you stomach was growing. I just didn't feel right approaching you about it." Per chuckled then continued, "At one point I thought the baby was...uh." Per shaked his head and grinned.

"Thought what?" Marie asked eagerly. Per looked at her and smiled, "Nevermind, just a silly thought."

Marie sighed, and nearly drank the whole glass of wine in one shot. She couldn't help but wonder what thoughts were in his head. She watched him carelessly sip his wine. Did he think that Josefin was his? Or did he dismiss the fact that it was a possibility? This man sitting across from her, who she had known for half of her life, still was a puzzle. A puzzle she feared she would never solve. She knew more about him than anyone else, but the secrets he kept to himself scared her.

Per felt the slight bit of tension between them and deciced to break it. "So what are we going to do tomorrow? Are you going to drag me to more shops?" He said, grinning. Marie looked up at him and giggled. "Well, let's see. What shops did we go to?" Per laughed then said, "The better question is which shope we DIDN'T go to! I think you dragged me though all of them!" Marie laughed then said with a grin, "I may have dragged you, but I surely didn't hear you complain about it." Per chuckled, "Well how could I complain when I had such good company?"

Marie smiled at him and resisted the urge to kiss him. He was so charming and so very sexy. In all the years that she had known Per, she had never realized just how seriously attracted she had been to him. She quickly thought about the way they openly flirted in concert. Most of it is just passed off as an adrenaline rush, but they both knew that the fans thought the worst of the flirtation. In fact, they would always ask them about their relationship. "Per, do you realize that many fans would love to know that you and I are together?" she mentioned after their dinner had arrived.

Per grinned, "Yea I know. I think a good number of them see right through us." He looked directlly at her and smiled. "We do flirt a bit on stage, and it isn't just an act." Marie looked into his eyes, trying to keep a straight face. Then he continued, "If only you knew what you do to me... the only thing that stops me from making love to you right on stage are the thousands of fans watching us." Marie looked at him wide-eyed. She understood his concern because she often felt the same. She didn't know if it was the rawness of his voice, the beads of sweat covering his body or the thousands of screaming girls that lust for him, but there was something about watching him perform that got her realing, and he knew it. He knew that she felt the same way he did.
