CUSTARD
LOVERAMA
by Case
Custard are one of those
bands who just keep on getting better and Loverama is quite easily
their best album to date. With Loverama Custard have gone for
a bit more of a laid-back feel then in their previous albums and
this works really well, most notably on the songs "The new Matthew"
and "Genius". "Girls like that (don't go for guys like us)" and
"Hit song" haven't deminished with repetition and "Monkey" will
probably end up the theme song for all Australian Internet addicts.
The production of this album is also really good - can Magoo do
no wrong? In addition to 13 great songs Custard have chosen to
include some multi-media stuff on the CD. I think this involves
film clips for the singles but I haven't got it working yet (some
great reviewer I turn out to be!). What is also interesting is this
album sounds good on my dodgy sound card as well as my stereo -
so I know what I'm going to be listening to as I surf the net!
In short, Loverama is a must buy for Custard fans, and hugely recommended
to everyone else.
