Leigh has
been with us since the beginning (November '98). She is the most
regular poster with the most messages under her belt. She also has
a tendancy to post awfully long posts, and now claims the title
for longest message and has posted a few messages up around the
1000 word mark, with one message needing to be split into two (with
over 2000 words). All her posts are always filled with very intelligent
points though, so she'll always be a very important and welcome
part of the community!
hellooo. my name is leigh and i am
22 in 2001 (fuck i feel old!). and a capricorn. that may explain
a lot of things. i take photos of bands in my spare time, and run
a wee record label and mailorder/distro
business as well. i live in sydney and i have a fondness for nearly
all music. well nearly all. i draw the line at hair metal and butt
rawk. haha ash!
!ash! !ash! will always be my sentimental faves BUT *takes a
deep breath* i do have some other buzzwords...

A few favourite CDs: ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail

Missing"; Yat-Kha, "Dalai Beldiri"... and I'll stop there before
I go on any more.
Preferred genres: rock music in its various forms. Reasonably
keen on metal and some industrial. Also likes forms of electronica,
1970s Jamaican dub, 20th century classical music, and Tuvan throat-singing.
I've also come to a belated (if limited) appreciation of some hip-hop,
which we can blame OutKast for, although my irrational hatred of
cheesy dance/techno still holds.
Other stuff: I read, I write, I fool about on the Internet
too much, I volunteer at community radio station 2SER (and may just
one day expand my horizons to include 2RRR as well), and currently
I'm studying community radio broadcasting at TAFE. Plus I recently
got invited to co-edit a magazine. Life is OK.

Steve first joined us in February '99. The first message I can find
from him is the famous hottest 100 annalysation which consisted
of Steve larely negative and very self-opinionated comments on the
entire 100 songs from 1999 hottest 100, for which he hailed much
abuse for! LOL. That message was also one of the largest messages
ever posted. Steve will always be known for his famous ability for
hating things, and stiring up shit, especially with the killing
heidi fans, hehe.

We have had the pleasure of Juanita's company since about February
99. She'll always be an important part of the message board community
too! She's now posted over a hundred messages and unlike Steve (hehe),
I think she's always happy and positive... I remember in July 99
when she thought about getting her tongue pierced - "is there anyone
here who has their tounge pierced, if so can you tell me if it hurts".
She was quickly filled in by a lot of people, and if it were me
considering it, they sure would have put me off! LOL. So did you
end up getting it pierced, Juanita?

He first joined us around January 99 I think, until about August
99, when i think he must have got sick of it, so he hasn't been
back much since! But keep an eye out for his ghost that has been
known to post the odd message now and then.

Other Stuff: I actually don't listen that much to JJJ, except to

I occasionly do stuff for them,) or 2SER 107.3, Sydney's indie and
electronica stations respectively (c'mon FBi for a full time license!)
But radio and music are pretty much passions, and this is as good
as any place for discussions.

Kylie, The Cruel Sea, Fat Boy SLim, Simply Red, M People, Massive
Attack, Sting, Crowded House, Neil Finn, Hunters and Collectors,
Paul Kelly, The Living End, Olive, Lamb, Pet Shop Boys, DJ David
Morales(session 7 MOS), Jimeroquai, The Cure, Lemonheads, and many
many more. - I have been accused of being a teeny bopper, which
at 21 seems quite amusing, I feel there is no shame in liking an
endless amount of different style od music.
Been Listening to the J's Since - 1993
Fave J's Programme - Well I have an unnatural obsession with Merrick
Watts, however if I was going for out right best show on the station
it would have to be Sara Mac and the Morning Show just because of
the cool stuff that I always learn about in there and that helped
me get 90% in my year 12 General Studies HSC test.
Fave Web Sites - www.democrats.org.au
- the Australian Democrats and Young Democrats site. http://cleo.murdoch.edu.au/nuse/home.htm
- The National Union of Students Online
www.y2kexpertos.com/mp34u/
- it is an Mp3 site, infortunatley it opens all those stupid porn
listing ones at the same time, if you close them it is a pretty
vast source and most of them are reliable and download ok.
www.youami.com.au
- U AM I central! - this is the coolest band page that I have seen
in a long time - the guy that does the page is on tour with the
band and the message board is pretty good.
http://come.to/net50
- the unofficial net 50 mp3 site, this is the best one that I have
seen and the archive is pretty good. there is a site at the bottom
of the main page that is called Angel Vixens Mp3 site, I cant get
the URL because the net fifty one stays at the top when you click
on the link but I reccomend the site as there is no porn and really
good archive, very reliable.
www.mcspotlight.org -
McSpotlight - this is the comprehensive site about the McLiable
case that has been going on in the UK for about 7 years or something,
if you love to see big multi nationals get a kick in the arse then
this is a great site! I especially like the forum for McDonalds
workers to complain about the conditions that they work in and the
fact that they are not allowed to become unionised - definatley
worth a look.
www.bluemountain.com
- electronic greetings, this cheesy american site is good value
if you have friends in the US - they have the most ridiculous holidays
over there, like National Coming Out Day and there are a plethora
of E-Cards to send to celebrate it! my favourites are the religious
ones and they have possibly the worst Midis that accompany then
ever! Of course there is your site as well Chay and I would have
to say that it has been the one that I have visited most regularly
since I learnt to use the internet!
