TRIPLE J FINALISES '99
LINE UP WITH MERRICK & ROSSO
The Melbourne duo have
been doing stand-up together for the past three years and have been
regular guests on The Departure Lounge for the past two years.
Their growing national profile has been boosted by a weekly series
on Foxtel's Comedy Channel and by taking over Roy & HG's Sunday
afternoon slot on Triple J in the latter part of this year. Merrick
Watts (25) and Tim Ross (28) will initially relocate to Sydney to
get a fresh perspective with a view to going home to Melbourne once
the show is established. Triple J has also announced newcomer Caroline
Tran who will be taking over the Superequest (7-10pm Mon-Fri) timeslot
as part of its revamped line-up. Twenty six year old Caroline came
to Australia in 1975 as a Vietnamese refugee and worked a variety
of jobs before deciding to focus her attentions on radio. A recent
graduate of the Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS),
Caroline is thrilled that her first major on-air role will be broadcasting
to 80% of Australia's population. Triple J’s weekday line-up for
1999 is now confirmed as:-
