The official start of Rabiate Rosiner was March/April 1998, when the bass player Magnus Moksnes joined the band.
The band was then known as Kickazz. Rabiate Rosiner had had various names and lineups before that, a.o. Mighty Penis and AutovÆrn. Magnus was
chosen because of him playing the guitar on a school event about two years earlier, but the fact was that he practically hadn't touched a guitar since that, least of all a bass,
which he hadn't touched all of his life. But, after a lot of practise and trying and failing, he becamea really lousy bass player during the first
stumbeling steps of what came to be known as RogeR VaR 1 ElefanT.
RogeR VaR 1 ElefanT - the first days of glory (late spring/early summer 1998)
Audun - vocals
Stephen - guitar
Magnus - bass
Christian - drums
These were the first days of glory. This was late spring/early summer 1998, in which RogeR VaR 1 ElefanT reached its first peak of popularity. The band consisted of Audun - the carismatic singer and front figure, Stephen - The confused guitar player withn the big lips, Magnus - the fresh
and lousy bass player which thumped his first stumbling notes on Stephen's Fender J-bass and Christian who really wasn't that great a drummer then. RogeR VaR 1 ElefanT, in spite of it's lack of expertese, got a handfull of fans who never really had heard the band, but thought it had a cool name.
RogeR VaR 1 ElefanT had some Green Day "wannabe punk/powerpop"-songs, which they intended to add to their original recording of "Onani er falsk idyll", which Ole, the recording-guy managed to completely fuck up at his 4-track. The absolute peak was the storied gig at the school party in the great hall of Tindlund U. Skole.
There were about 20 people listening when they started playing, and three, Line, Augie Bruno (Christian's ex) and Linn-Anett (Audun's girlie) left when they left the stage. In spite of their radical loss of popularity, the gig was a toal rush. Thus ended the days of glory for RogeR VaR 1 ElefanT...
Speedrabbit/Speedgravid - the downfall and the arising (summer-fall 1998)
Audun - guitar
Magnus - bass
Christian - drums
The summer of 1998 is a black hole for Rabiate Rosiner. Stephen lost his motivation, and Audun wanted to play the guitar. Stephen was given the proposal of starting singing, which is, if you've heard Stephen's voice, literally the same thing as kicking him. The band didn't produce anything, and had troubles finding its genre. In spite of the band's lack of inspiration,
Magnus proceeded to buy his own bass guitar to become a better bass player. He bought this cheap Samick-thing which turned out to be a great investment. Then came the enlightment. After a jamming session in the old practising-joint, Kaaken, Magnus and Audun started fooling around playing this really lame polka thing, and Christian proceeded with a ditto rythm. This song
culminated in a really fast, really un-tight and really punk-ish riff. Thus was "Mari" created, and a new era started for the band. The band, now all geared after doing this magical turnover, sat down and wrote a lyric about poor little Mari getting lost in the woods, raped and parted into tiny bits. During the following pracise-sessions, "Snutejævel" and "Piker, Vin og Sang" was born, and Rabiate Rosiner, then Speedgravid, was on a roll.
After moving to a new place in Greåker, Beachen, Rabiate Rosiner made a handfull of new songs. Rabiate Rosiner then practised intensely through the fall, and developed into being a decent band. Audun handled the axe very well, and both Magnus and Christian improved radically. One Friday night in November, as the guys hung out at Christian's place watching the hilarious Monthy Python movie "The Life of Brian", Magnus caught that Pilatus on some occation
said the word "rabid" which was translated into "rabiat" in the subtitles, and then the magic words "Rabiate Rosiner" slipped out of him, as like Flooby sent them. And thus a new wave of punk was born...

Now Rabiate Rosiner started getting serious again. In November, just after the name-switching, Rabiate Rosiner found themselves ready for a trip to the studio. They called Halden Rockeverksted, and booked a Sunday in December. The 14th of December, Rabiate Rosiner managed to record and mix seven songs. They even wrote the lyrics of some in the studio.
These were "Politiske, sosiale og økonomiske konsekvenser av amerikaniseringen av det norske samfunn", "Snutejævel", "Piker, Vin og Sang", "Tråkker på Jesus", "Mari", the old classic "Julesang for hælvete" and a re-write of their "Viva La Sarpsborg". Audun did the lead vocals, and all of Rabiate Rosiner made some cool choirs throughout the session. The demo is very un-tight, un-professional and hasn't got the bast sound in the world, but it's sure worth listening to. It's just straight out funny. In January 1999, Ungdommens Kulturmønstring was up in Sarpsborg, and Rabiate Rosiner signed up.
It was intended that Magnus was to sing, because he was the only one who managed to play and sing at once (yeah, the kid has gotten good). But, a week or so before the performance, Rabiate Rosiner acuired a new guitar player, Glenn, who is in Audun's class at school. He attended to one practise, learnt "Piker, Vin og Sang" and "Mari", and was with the band. Now Audun once again grabbed the mic. Rabiate Rosiner made a hell of a show, and was characterizated as "stand-up punk" by the judges. In late January, Rabiate Rosiner found a new singer, and Audun started playing the guitar once again. What was this bound to become?
Rabiate Rosiner (2) - The Danish intermezzo (February 1999 - February 1999
Marcus - vocals
Glenn - guitar
Audun - guitar
Magnus - bass

Short story: We tried out Marcus for a couple of practising sessions, he sucked, we kicked him...
Rabiate Rosiner (3) - The great rock n' roll adventure (February 1999 - ?)
Audun aka Chest Rockwell - vocals/guitar
Glenn aka Studley More - guitar
Magnus aka Johnny Joyride - bass
Christian aka Dirk Diggler - drums
After the Danish intermezzo, Rabiate Rosiner flourished like never before. They recorded a new demo tape in March, and has booked a few gigs during spring. Glenn is doing great, and the band is more productive than ever. What will this become? The best punk band in the galaxy will certainly strike again...
Punk is indeed dead. People call it Rabiate Rosiner
