We all have real world names. Ever try to call the front desk at a hotel and ask if Crazy Haze or Roses have checked in yet? How about if Zookeeper or Missing Johnny have arrived? LOLROF! Never thought of asking for REAL WORLD names t'il I coulnd't locate anyone the first day I was at Hansonfest.

The woman at the front desk just chuckled when I asked if Crazy Haze had checked in. She commented on what a strange name it was. I explained to her that we were an internet club meeting everyone face to face, and then she understood (well I think she did!). When I called the other hotel across the road to locate Tizjen and Tayzac, I couldn't find them! Their rooms must have been registered under their roomies names, and I didn't know the names! LOLROF!! So close, and yet so far!

It was funny calling people by their real world names. Somehow the real world names just didn't fit. Unless the real world name was what I called them anyway. Like Troy or Ritch or Connie. Jortay was Jortay to me and that was that. So it was the same with Frenchie. Roses, yes, the same holds true for her. The day at PKI I had already named Squiggy's parents Momma and Daddy Squiggs!

I had a hard time answering to my 'net name as well. Everytime some called me, it took me a few minutes to realize they were talking to me, and not someone else! Shame on me tho, I've had my screename for ever. (It was my nick name when I was a kid).

What's in a screen name anyway? Our alter egos I guess. We all decide our screennames based on our feelings of annonimity on the 'net. Names are chosen with careful consideration, as this is the first thing others see when you are in a chat room or post on a MB. Itz an extension of ourselves, our personalities. Keeping all this in mind, can you imagine yelling out these names at PKI?
