-Hi Tobias..So at first tell us, what’s new with CBT..
Hi there. Well, we´ve just finished the work for our debut CD called "Opus(sy)VI". it was really quite hard work, but i think it´ll be a real damn killer! The CD will be out in march, i think, but we don´t know exactly yet.
-When did CBT start?
We´ve started in spring ´97 after the split up of CARNAL TOMB. In the beginning we just wanted to do 2 or 3 songs just for fun, but the stuff was real cool! ...and so we did more and more stuff.....
-Where did you play before???
We´ve only done a few gigs yet. We´ve played twice in Homburg/Zweibrücken with MINDFLAIR, SUBLIME, MIT DEM TRAUMA LEBEN and on one of this gigs there were also SUPPOSITORY and the gogds of LAST DAYS OF HUMANITY. We´ve also done 2 gigs with other bands from our region, but it was quite a private party, because no-one was there!!!!
-Do you often play gigs?
No, we don´t. we can´t do a lot of gigs in our region, because no-one likes that kind of music, so we have to go quite far, but 4-5 gigs a year is enough i think!
-What influenced you?
Well, actually I don´t listen very much to gore grind, but timo and sascha do so; they like MUCUPURULENT, GUT, HEMDALE, EXHUMED; CEREBRAL TURBULENCY....(i like these bands, too). We really try to do our own thing, because we mix quite many influences up when we do the songwriting. We don´t want to be a typical gore grind band like many others.
-Do you only listen to brutal & gore stuff???
I listen to many styles of music, but the stuff must be brutal and intense, no whimp stuff!!!! There are also some cool blackmetal bands, but most of the new BM bands are real shit!! (But DARK FUNERAL rules!!!!!!!!)
-Do you also watch gory movies & stuff like that?
No i don´t, but i think the other two guys do so
-How serioulsy do you take your brutal lyrics, etc...???
well, you know.... the main thing is the music (the riffs/patterns you play) . i don´t really take our lyrics too serious!
-How many releases have you already released...demos, 7”EPs, CDs, etc...???
we´ve done the "Cocktales"demo in 97 and then the same stuff on MCD in 98. We´ve done a split ep with SQUASH BOWELS and there are two more ep´s to come the next weeks/months. One ep is with BLOOD SUCKERS and the other one should be with LAST DAYS OF HUMANITY, but we don´t know when the suff will be out.
-Who is the author of your brutal name???
We´ve surfed through the internet and found a site with many cock and ball torture stuff, and so we took the name. I like it. It was quite easy to find a name for our kind of music!!!!
-How do the members of the band work?
Well, i play guitars. I do some riffs and think about some drum patterns and then we all together build up the song. Every one is included in the song writing. The song names are timo´s special sector, because he always has thought up the most stupid names!!!
-Do you practise cock & ball torture???
Not really, because it burns like hell when you put candles under your balls and wait until all hair on the balls is burnt down..........
