Whoa!!! Two very cool bands on one split...that's a good recipe for earning a lot of money...ohhh, no. This is a real D.I.Y. stuff...7"EPs are not very trendy today...:-)...& I don't think that a DeathGrind & a GoreGrind band could earn a lot of money for a label in these times, when some shitty pop, techno, dancefloor, soul or other scum is popular. But let's get to the bands...Ingrowing is here with two songs from the upcoming debut album Cyberspace + one cover of Anal Cunt's Radio Hit. Very heavy (I don't mean Heavy metal influenced) DeathGrind with dual vocals (screams & growls of course) . The songs are very technical, brutal & of course very good. The new songs are very proffesional & I'm sure that their debut will be very cool!!! Damn it there is much stuff I'd like to get (new Ingrowing, Exhumed, Kataklysm, Dahmer, aaaaaarrrrrrgggghhhh & many more) & just don't have the goddamn money!!! OK...those are my problems...Let's get to Haemorrhage. There are three songs from them in here...very sick/funny stuff!!! It is not very fast, but don't await anything slow...it's just because there are no blasts on this one. You know it is very interesting that in spanish extreme scene women have the same rights as men...:-)...just take Haemorrhage or Unnatural...isn't that interesting???
A little recommendation at the end: I was a bit dissapointed when I was listening to this EP for the first time...the reason why...damn it I was listening to it with the speed 33rpm & it should be 45rpm!!!!!!!!!!

Once again, I have the honour to write a review on the best czech band...Gride. This band is great in every aspect...music (very cool GrindCrust) & lyrics ('bout stupid racists, trendiness, TV, etc.). There are 5 songs from them in here, but on this EP they are more Crusty, then on the Three way split. The music is fast (the drummer is great), only the last song is little bit slow. OK...I have no other words, this is just typical Gride...so if you like Crust & Grind (the band calls their style a "Power Gride Core") you'll like it!!! The other band Lies & Distrust plays a very insane form of Crust. This band is at least as good as Gride. They have also very good lyrics ('bout skinheads & racists, vivisection, underground/D.I.Y. lifestyle, etc.). The music is mainly fast (the same drummer as in Gride) & very Crusty. I can't help myslef, but this kind of music has an optimistic (not funny) influence on me. Very cool! They have 4 songs here...every one is very cool, but in the last one in the beginning there is a great oriental & catchy riff...great idea!!! I think that this EP is great for both Grinders & Crusters & I'm really sure that they'd like it!!!
Some words 'bout the booklet & the work of Insane Society Prod.: I think that Insane Society has done a great work with this EP...they have gathered two great bands & the booklet...very cool. Many pics in there + lyrics in czech, english, polish & german!

This is probably the most perverted band in the czech extreme scene! The booklet is extremely nice...full of dicks, cunts, sluts & of course some deformations. The pics are from the famous Goregallery website. ...& with those pics, also the lyrics are very nice...mostly 'bout some wicked sexual intercourses & stuff like that. But let's get to the main thing...the music. The band plays cool Gory DeathGrind with some other influence like Crust/Punk. I don't remember, how many songs are on the tape (while I'm writing this review, I don't have it...I have borrowed it to my friend) , but I know that the songs are very good...fast, with some slower passages & blasts of course + some funny stuff like porno-intros, etc. I'm not the only one who says, that the biggest hit on this tape is the song Kokodak...you better check this one out! The sound is better then on the previous one ...a miminko je na svete! (but I don't care very much about that) & the music is better too. Don't await anything extremely technical, the music is quite simple, but that's not bad at all...no, no! I don't know what else should I write...just...Do you like DeathGrind in a gory vein? Then what are you waiting for???

Suffocate is a slovakian Brutal Death metal band with some HC & Grindy influences. The music is quite original & I can't think of any well-known band that I could compare this stuff to... You can find 9 songs on this demo...mainly fast stuff, but there are also some slower mainly HC passages & of course plenty of blasts!!! The members of band are very good players, but the drummer & bassist are the best!!! The bassist uses 6 string bass & does a very good job with his instruments!!! ...& what can I say about the drummer? Well, he's really fat, but also very good!!! Very technical & fast!!! Probably one of the best drummers on the slovak scene!!! This band is very good on concerts, better than on their studio albums!!! So, if you haven't seen them yet & have the possibility, check 'em out!!! ...& what about the lyrics??? They are 'bout social problems & stuff like that...with deeper meaning...

This was (unfortunately was) one of the most original czech extreme bands. They've played some very cool form of Grind n' Death n' Thrash. They have released three demos + this 7"EP & I think this is their best stuff! This EP could easily be their Best of... There are only hits in here. I just love these songs! But the best song in here & in the whole Hermaphrodit history is Odrazena teleci ledvina (McDONALD'S) (Knocked off calf kidney (McDONALD'S)). The music is very technical & every guy in this band is a brilliant musician. The lyrics are very interesting...I would describe 'em like this: On the surface they look like gory lyrics, but inside they are more then just senseless fairy-tales. When you look at the titles like Urogenitalni omacka s hovezim genitalem (Urogenital sauce with a beef genital), Amputace ztoporeneho penisu (Amputation of a stiff penis) or Chirurgicky rez zhnisanym lunem rodidla (Surgical cut by purulent womb of genital) you'll say that this is a typical Gore band (with a good sense of humour)...but that's not true...these songs are 'bout society problems & 'bout how stupid mankind is!!! I haven't mentioned two songs from here, 'cause they don't have any gory titles...it is Spotreba, mleka, vajec, tuku a masa se zvysila o 15% (Consumption of milk, eggs, fat & meat increased about 15%) & the second best song of Hermaphrodit Treba jsme jen stebelka v trave? (Are we stalks in grass only?) ...this song is extremely interesting, with a genial feeling...this song is not very traditional...it's more into thrash...but it's great!!! OK...As I said in the beginning the band does not exist anymore, but it has a follower...Hermafrodit...a project of the ex-guitarist/singer of Hermaphrodit Tomas Zavadil...but it has nothing to do with extremity...it is a acid/trance/industrial/jazz project...very cool for relaxation!!! If you don't like tapes/demos, last year (1998) was released a CD with their 1st two demos on Epidemie Records (mail to Martin - epidemie@post.cz). Great stuff!!!

I love this kind of split, where both bands are totally cool! Sometimes I like only one band on some split, but not in this case. In this case I'm 100% satysfied. Contrastic plays very cool Gory Death metal with some Grindy influences & Deaf & Dumb plays very brutal & technical Grind core. Let's describe the Contrastic side first. There are 10 songs from them in here. The music is very cool, with some very good ideas. There are slow, middle & fast (but mainly fast) passages & of course lot of grindy blasts. The singer is using mainly screams & classical growls, but we can find here also some effected vocals. The music is also quite technical, with some solos. From the titles (& I read some interviews) the lyrics are gory. Except this split the band has also released 1 demo Extreme Contrast & another split with Ingrowing. OK...now let's get to the Deaf & Dumb side. As I said in the beginning the band plays brutal & technical Grind core. There are 6 songs, 1 intro & 1 outro from them in here & everything is 1st-rate stuff!!! Many insane passages & blasts!!! The growls are totally brutal (maybe some effects were used) + some screams were used too. Unfortunately they've broken up...damn it, why??? They could develop their style to absolute (& I mean ABSOLUTE) excellence!!!
