When I was buying this album before
couple of months I was not sure if it will satisfy my hunger for brutal
music. I haven't heard an Incantation album before(only a few songs
on some compilations) , so I was sticking it into my cassette player(I
bought a cassette, 'cause in our country CD's are to expensive, so it's
more advantageous to buy a cassette) with distrust. But as the first tones
came out of my speakers I knew that my fear was baseless. Fast drums of
Kyle Severn, brutal roars of the new ''singer'' of the band Daniel Corhado
& abnormal riffs of the brain of the band John McEntee. The song titles
speak for themselves. Names like Desecration (Of The Heavenly Graceful)
, Unheavenly Skies, etc. say that the lyrics of the band are extremely
Anti-Christian. I have no other useless words. Just buy it, 'cause for
me this is the album of the year 1998. Brutal !!!
Ked som si kupoval tento album
pred par mesiacmi nebol som si isty ci ukoji moj hlad po brutalnej hudbe.
Predtym som este nepocul album od Incantation (iba par pesniciek
na kompilackach) , preto som ho strkal do kazetaku (kupil som si kazetu)
s nedoverou. Ale ked vysli z mojich reprakov prve tony vedel som, ze moj
strach bol bezvyznamny. Rychle bicie Kyla Severna, brutalne chrochtanie
noveho "spevaka" Daniela Corhada a nenormalne riffy mozgu skupiny Johna
McEnteeho. Nazvy pesniciek hovoria sami za seba. Mena ako Desecration
(Of The Heavenly Graceful) , Unheavenly Skies, atd. hovoria, ze texty
skupiny su extremne Anti-Krestanske. Nemam dalsie zbytocne slova. Chod
si to radsej kupit, pretoze toto je pre mna album roka 1998.Brutal !!!

At first I'd like to say that this
is not the new KATAKLYSM (Victims Of This Fallen World) , which
I'm trying to buy, but I can't get it anywhere in my hometown.This is a
re-release of the first two albums. A mini called The Mystical Gate
Of Reincarnation('94) , the first long play Sorcery('95) + 3
bonuses on one CD (Digipack) . But before I'll get to both albums &
the bonuses, I'd like to say that Sorcery is my favourite album
ever made. IT'S JUST GREAT !!!
But let's start with The
Mystical Gate Of Reincarnation :
It won't be very difficult to describe
this one - just pure fuckin' Death Metal. But this one is more grinding
than Sorcery. Very cool !!!
Sorcery :
So as I said in the beginning this
is my favourite album. On it melodies are crossed with brutality(in the
right proportions - 1:5) & the vocalist Sylvian Houde is growling/screaming
absolutely extremely. AAAAAAAARRRRGGGHHH !!! THIS IS A MASTERPIECE !!!
Bonuses :
Two of the bonuses Eternal,
I Reach Infinity & Rays Of Ra are taken from the compilations
Death Is Just The Beginning III & IV, but I don't know where
from is the third one L'Odyssee. Eternal, I Reach Infinity is
from the times of Sorcery so it's pretty cool & Rays Of Ra
& L'Odyssee are from the times of Temple Of Knowledge.
Najprv by som chcel povedat, ze
toto neni novy album KATAKLYSM (Victims Of This Fallen World) ,
ktory sa snazim kupit, ale neviem ho doma nikde dostat. Toto je znovuvydanie
prvych dvoch albumov. Mini The Mystical Gate Of Reincarnation('94) ,
prvy dlhohrajuci album Sorcery('95) + 3 bonusy na jednom CD (Digipack)
. Ale predtym nez sa dostanem k obidvom albumom a bonusom, by som chcel
povedat, ze Sorcery je moj najoblubenejsi album, ktory bol kedy
urobeny. Je jednoducho genialny !!!
Ale zacnime s The Mystical
Gate Of Reincarnation:
Nebude zlozite opisat tento kus
- jednoducho cisty vyjebany Death Metal. Tento je ale viac grindovy ako
Sorcery.Very cool !!!
Sorcery:
Ako som povedal na zaciatku toto
je moj najoblubenejsi album. Melodie su skrizene s brutalitou (v spravnej
miere - 1:5) a spevak Sylvian Houde chrci/vrieska absolutne extremne. AAAAAAAARRRRGGGHHH

I'm a Death Metal fan, so to buy this
album was my duty. There was no fear if it will be brutal or not. But I
wasn't so sure about the new ''singer''/bassist Steve Tucker. The music
is brutal & the ''singer'' is...I think that he is even better than
the old one - David Vincent & he's not such a poser as David Vincent
surely is. As I said the music is brutal, but not only brutal, it's also
very technical & it's even faster than before. It's absolutely extreme.
Pete Sandoval is like a machine. For me, he's the best drummer in the world.
I have no words for the work of Trey Azagthoth. He's a brilliant guitarist
& composer. So this reveiw is not as big as the first two, but I think
that this is enough.
Som Deathovy fanusik, takze kupenie
tohto albumu bola moja povinnost. Nemal som ziadny strach ci to bude brutalne
alebo nie. Ale nebol som si taky isty novym "spevakom"/basakom Steveom
Tuckerom. Hudba je brutalna a "speavak"... myslim, ze je este lepsi nez
stary - David Vincent a urcite neni taky pozer ako David Vincent urcite
je. Ako som uz povedal hudba je brutalna, ale nielen brutalna, ale aj velmi
technicka a je este rychlejsia nez predtym. Je to absolutne extremne. Pete
Sandoval je ako stroj. Pre mna je najlepsim bubenikom na svete. Nemam slova
pre pracu Treya Azagthotha. Je brilantny gitarista a skladatel. Takze tato
recenzia neni taka velka, ako prve dve, ale myslim, ze toto staci.

CORPSE (USA)

So the Cannibals are back with their
new album. And with their new album they've changed line-up once again.
They have a new guitarist Pat O' Brien(ex-Ceremony, ex-Nevermore
& ex-Monstrosity guitarist, also Steve Tucker from Morbid
Angel has played in Ceremony) . And that's everything, nothing
else has changed, only their music is little slower than before. But that's
not wrong, 'cause I'm that kind of guy who doesn't like when a band changes
its style & then thay say that it's a natural evolution. I really hate
that, especially when they change to some trendy posers. Fuck off !
But
let's get back to Cannibal Corpse. The music is similar to that
on the Vile album & it's really cool. Especially the fast songs
like I Will Kill You, Disposal Of The Body, Stabbed In
The Throat, Headless & the last one Crushing The Despised
which are my favourite. Also the slower are good, but I won't write
any other titles, 'cause than I would have to write every title.
P. S. : The lyrics & the artwork
are still gory.
Takze Kanibali su spat s novym albumom.
A s novym albumom sa zmenila ich zostava znova. Maju noveho gitaristu Pata
O' Briena (ex-Ceremony, ex-Nevermore a ex-Monstrosity gitarista,
aj Steve Tucker z Morbid Angel hral v Ceremony) . A to by
bolo asi tak vsetko, nic ine sa nezmenilo, iba hudba je trochu pomalsia
ako predtym. Ale to neni zle, pretoze ja som ten typ, ktory nema rad ked
skupina zmeni svoj styl a potom hovoria, ze to je zakonity vyvin. To hrozne
nenavivim, najma ked sa zmenia na nejakych trendackych pozerov. Fuck
off ! Ale podme spat ku C.C. Hudba sa podoba tej na albume Vile
a je dost dobra. Specialne rychle pesnicky ako I will kill you, Disposal
of the body, Stabbed in the throat, Headless a posledna Crushing
the despised, ktore su moje oblubene. Ale aj tie pomalsie su dobre,
ale uz nebudem pisat ziadne nazvy, pretoze potom by som musel napisat vsetky
nazvy.
P.S. : Texty a obal su stale gorove.

DYING

This is the third album of this typical American Brutal Death
Metal band. They have a new drummer & he's really good!!! But there
haven't been only line-up changes on this album, there was also a little
change in the style of the band. They are little bit slower & they
use some Hard core passages. But don't worry if you don't like HC, Death
metal is still the dominant style. The "singer", guitarist & the main
composer of the band John Gallagher is growling more extremely than on
the Purification... album & sometimes I doubt that he doesn't
use a harmonizer. But in the booklet is written that he didn't use any.
The lyrics are written by Jason Netherton & are about things he doesn't
like. No gory lyrics as man would expect from the name of the band. There
is also one coverversion on this album, Judgement day, originally
recorded by Integrity.
Toto je treti album od tejto typickej
Americkej Brutal Death Metal kapely. Maju noveho bubenika a je vazne dobry!!!
Lenze zmeny neboli len v zostave, ale je tu aj trocha zmena v style kapeli.
Su trochu pomalsi a pouzivaju HC pasaze. Ale neboj ak nemas rad HC, Death
metal je stale dominantnym stylom. "Spevak", gitarista a hlavny skladatel
J.Galagher chropti ovela extremnejsie ako na predchadzajucom albume a obcas
pochybujem ci nepouzil nejaky efekt. Ale v booklete je napisane, ze ne.
Texty su pisane J.Nethertonom a su o veciach, ktore nema rad. Ziadne gorove
texty ako by clovek ocakaval z nazvu skupiny. Je tu aj jeden cover- Judgement
day, ktory originalne nahrali Integrity.

CARCASS

This album is one of the first releases
in the GoreGrind style. The line- up on this album was Jeff Walker- bass/
vocals, Bill Steer- guitar/ vocals & Ken Owen- drums/ vocals. In those
times this was an album of a unspeakable brutality. In those times
there were only few bands playing similiar type of music (for example:
Napalm
Death or Terrorizer) , but Carcass was probably
the most extreme amongst them. They had extreme pathological lyrics (for
example: Genital grinder, Vomited anal- tract or my favourite
Mucupurulence
excretor) , with an artwork full of rotten corpses. On this album there
are 22 songs (every with a pathological title) , not a very clear sound
(that doesn't matter, for me it's O. K. ) & brutal Grind music. Carcass
has made also another album in this style-
Symphonies of sickness '89,
but then they've changed their style to Death metal. I don't say that their
later releases are not good, but it is not just the same. On their first
two releases, especially on Reek of putrefaction, I could feel that
it is fun & on their later releases it started to be too serious. Fortunately
there are many followers today. There is one whole music style- GoreGrind
& many bands like Haemorrhage, Dead Infection, etc.
Toto je jeden z prvych GoreGrindovych
albumov. Zostava na albume bola J.Walker- basa/vresk, B.Steer- gitara/vresk,
K.Owen- bicie/vresk. V tych casoch to bol album nevyslovitelnej brutality.
V tej dobe bolo iba par kapiel hrajucich podobny styl hudby (napr. : Napalm
Death, Terrorizer) , ale Carcass bol medzi nimi asi najextremnejsi.
Mali extremne patologicke texty (napr. : Genital grinder, Vomited anal-tract,
alebo moja najoblubenejsia Mucupurulence excretor) , s obalom plnym
hnilych mrtvol. Na tomto albume je 22 pesniciek (kazda s patologickym nazvom)
, nie velmi cisty zvuk (to nevadi pre mna je to O. K. ) a brutalna Grindova
hudba. Carcass nahral este jeden album v tomto style- Symphonies
of sickness '89, ale potom zmenili svoj styl na Death metal. Nehovorim,
ze ich neskorsie albumy su zle, ale uz to neni to iste. Na prvych dvoch
albumoch, specialne na Reek... , sa dalo citit, ze je to sranda
a na ich neskorsich albumoch to zacalo byt moc vazne. Nastastie je dnes
vela pokracovatelov. Je tu jeden cely hudobny styl- GoreGrind a vela skupin
ako Haemorrhage, Dead Infection, atd.

I'm really proud to have this album
on a vinyl, especially on a limited 1000 pieces edition. But let's get
to Pungent stench. It is a legendary Death metal band from Austria.
Before this album they have recorded one demo Mucous secretion &
a split LP album with another Austrian Death metal band Disharmonic
orchestra, both the demo & split LP are today sold out.And
finally after this releases, they've recorded For god your soul...
This album is full of brutal, sick & also catchy riffs. In those times
it was probably one of the most original & brutal albums. The lyrics
as you should have noticed from the name of the band & album are gory
& full of "funny" stories (for example the song
A small lunch
is about a guy who ate his granny) . The cover is also gory with a chopped
off arm & leg + a piece of human skull (isn't that romantic?) . But
that is nothing against the cover of their later release Been caught
buttering '91, where you can see two old guys (very old, I would say
rotten) kissing each other. Or the cover of their minialbum Dirty rhymes
& psychotronic beats '9? where you can see a naked fat lady, with
blood all over her naked tits, with some knifes & axes in her hands
(covered with blood of course) & with dead bodies everywhere. With
this I wanted to show you how sick are this guys. Unfortunately they've
broken up this year.
Som vazne pysny, ze mam tento album
na platni, specialne na 1000-kusovej edicii. Ale podme k Pungent Stench.
Je to legendarna skupina z Rakuska. Pred tymto albumom nahrali jedno demo
Mucuous
secretion a split LP s dalsou Rakuskou Death metalovou kapelou
Disharmonic
orchestra, ktore su dnes vypredane. A konecne po vydani tychto veci
nahrali For god your soul... Tento album je plny brutalnych, chorych,
ale aj chytlavych riffov. V tych casoch to bol mozno najoriginalnejsi a
najbrutalnejsi album. Texty su ako si si zrejme vsimol z nazvu skupiny
a albumu gorove a plne "srandovnych" pribehov (napr. : A small lunch
je o typkovi, co zozral svoju babku) . Obal je tiez gorovy s odseknutou
rukou a nohou + kus ludskej lebky (neni to romanticke?) . Ale to neni nic
oproti obalu ich neskorsieho albumu Been caught buttering'91 , kde
su dvaja stary dedovia (velmi stary, povedal by som hnily) , ktory sa bozkavaju.
Alebo obal ich minialbumu Dirty rhymes & psychtronic beats '9?
, kde je hola tlsta zenska, s krvavymi ceckami, s najakymi nozikmi a sekerkami
v ruke (samozrejeme krvavymi) a mrtvymi telami okolo. Takto som sa ti snazil
ukazat aky chory tito lidia su. Nanestastie sa tento rok rozpadli.

PESTILENCE

Pestilence was a holland band.
They have recorded four albums & unfortunately broken-up. Their debut
was called Malleus Malleficarum & it was in a technical thrash
metal style. Their second album was in a Death metal style & was called
Consuming
Impulse. And finally they've recorded they third album
Testimony...
I think that it is their best album. It is also in a Death metal style,
but it was in an other form. Consuming... was a brutal (in those
times) Death metal & Testimony... was more technical & melodical.
Songs like Twisted truth, Land Of Tears or
Stigamtized are
absolutely one of my favourite ever. They have a genial atmosphere. In
T.T. & L.O.T. made by genial solos & in S.
by a great ending & changing into the outro. This album is absolutely
great!!! After this album Pestilence has recorded another one Spheres.
This album was very experimental. The style that they've played was called
by the band a Contemporary death fusion & it was a fusion of Death
metal, rock & jazz. I think that it is cool, but the fans didn't admire
this & the band has broken-up. It is a sad ending & I think that
Pestilence didn't deserve it.
Pestilence bola holandska
skupina. Nahrali styri albumi a nanestastie sa rozpadli. Ich debut sa volal
Malleus Malleficarum a bol v technickom thrashovom style. Ich druhym
albumom bol Consuming Impulse, Death metalovom style. A konecne
nahrali svoj treti album Tesimony... Myslim si, ze toto je ich najlepsi
album. Je tiez v Death metalovom style, ale v inej forme. Consuming...
bol
brutalny (v tych casoch) Death metal a Testimony... bol viac technicky
a melodicky. Pesnicky ako Twisted truth, Land of tears
or Stigmatized
su jedny z mojich najoblubenejsich. Maju genialnu atmosferu. V T.T.
a L.O.T. utvorenu genialnymi solami a v
S. perfektnym
ukoncenim a prechodom do outra. Tento album je absolutne perfektny !!!
Po tomto albume nahrali Pestilence este jeden Spheres.
Tento
album je velmi experimentalny. Styl, ktory hrali kapela nazvala Contemporary
death fusion a bola to fuzia Death metalu, rocku a jazzu. Ja si myslim,
ze je to dobre, ale fanusikovia to nezobrali a kapela sa rozpadla. Je to
smutny koniec a myslim, ze si to Pestilence nezasluzili.
