Addendum to our Goodbye *LOL*--June 6, 2000
Yes, we know, we didn't think we would be adding anything else either!
First, we want to thank all of you who have written to us in the past couple of weeks! Your "goodbye" letters have been so touching, we just don't know what to say! We can't believe we have received hundreds and hundreds of positive and supportive emails after the site shut down. Thank you all! Give us time, we will be responding to each mail personally!
The reason we decided to make a brief update on this page is because we are aware that other Girlfriend based sites have popped up since we shut down. We have no problem with this! As a matter of fact, if it is a positive site, then all the more power to them. What does give us great pause is when those sites take it upon themselves to use similar URL addresses to ours, thus causing confusion amongst who owns that site and who is behind it. It doesn't surprise us that this has taken place, as our site was extremely popular and the demand for positive and truthful Girlfriend information in overwhelming.
Allow us to take this time to make this crystal clear. The BSB Real Deal is CLOSED. This site will not continue in any way, shape or form. We, Kelli and Nikki, will not be working on or affiliated with any other websites, newsletters, clubs, etc. We are done, gone, Elvis has left the building. We also will not endorse any other GF sites on the Net. The reason being is that you never know what may pop up on a site from one day to the next, true or untrue. We would rather not have our names tied up in someone else' s site.
Thank you all again for your overwhelming support of this site! It has been amazing!

Our Goodbye
After long and careful consideration, we have come to the decision to close down the site. It wasn't an easy decision to arrive at, but we finally agreed it was time to shut down. Neither one of us has the time or energy to run this site the way it needs to run. We are both extremely proud of this site and what it has accomplished. Our goal was to present the BSB Girlfriends in a POSITIVE, truthful, and accurate manner and we feel we did that in the best way we knew how.
For all the positivity we have tried to put forth on our site, there are dozens and dozens of sites that promote negativity and hatred towards the Girlfriends. We are honestly appalled at the amount of anti websites and clubs dedicated to the BSB Girlfriends and in particular, to Mandy.
The negativity and hatred that exists on these sites are nothing short of vicious. What boggles our minds is that so many of you have put forth so much effort into channeling such negativity towards a woman you don't know and will likely never even meet. What's the purpose of all this, can someone enlighten us? Some of you are grown women with children of your own. If this was happening to your daughters, we doubt you would be so quick to participate. We really hope that some of you take a good look at yourselves and realize dwelling in such negativity is just sad.
We've taken the heat plenty for our stance on Nick and Mandy, and that's fine. The reason we have been so admanant about this topic is not because Mandy is our best friend or because she secretly runs this site or any of the other crazy rumors on running around on the internet. We have taken this stance because she is the only one who has taken non- stop bashing for no real reason. If it was Amanda, Kristin, Claudia or even Leighanne, we would take the same stance. Before the Carter FAQ, Mandy was made into a pariah only because she was Nick's girlfriend. The untrue contents of the FAQ simply fueled the fire more. It's unfair and it's wrong and we've tried our hardest to put forth positivity on the subject and let the truth be known about Mandy and Nick. We hope that it got through to some of you.
We know we are also criticized because according to some of you, we only post the "sunny side of the fence". Well, yes we do and we are proud of the fact that we do know when to draw the line. That's part of being a POSITIVE site. If we were to post every single indiscretion or rumor regarding any of the BSB or GFs, the site would have no end. And, what would that accomplish anyway? It's no one's business. We apologize if we aren't the type of people who enjoy airing others' dirty laundry. We realize we are obviously in the minority. What's funny is that the very people who criticize us, are the same ones who run to the site daily in hopes it has been updated or who email us asking for info singing our praises. Oh, you can bet we love the sweet irony.
We would like to thank everyone who visited the site and sent in your positive emails. We also would like to thank those of you who sent in photos, articles, interviews, etc for the site. Without all of you looking out for us, this site wouldn't be half of what it is. We also wanted to specifically thank Lisa from the UK who helped us out with her site designs and Val who helped us answer mail. We are thankful for all the friends this site has brought us along the way, it's been a real adventure! Our deepest thanks to everyone!
Our goodbye would not be complete without sending our warmest wishes to the Backstreet Boys, their significant others, and their families--we wish them all our very best. May they all have lifetimes full of happiness, health and love.
