Houllier brought him in earlier in 1999, saying that Kippe was a player "not for tomorrow, but for the day after tomorrow". As such, Kippe is unlikely to figure in this season's campaign. On the other hand, Kippe has been settling well in the reserve side and with his natural talent, his time at Anfield could see him become a star.

Kippe has not played in the first team very much but he featured in the Worthington Cup match against Hull City this season. With Gerard Houllier slowly blooding in young players, Kippe will most certainly have his chance in future. Time is on his side.
