Def Leppard

This show was my 10-year old daughter's first concert. What an awesome experience it was. Def Leppard was as great as I'd ever seen them, and we were about four rows from the front. It was standing room only, no seating.
The most incredible part was that the show took place at the state fair in this small town in northern Michigan. When we arrived, we were able to see the stage and the guys in the band doing their sound check. Later, we saw Rick Allen walking around in the fair. Cameras were allowed in the show and we took lots of great pictures.
This was the first time I'd seen Vivian Campbell with Def Leppard. He seemed a little shy in front of the crowd, but performed well. The rest of the guys were at ease with the crowd. I've never seen a band with such a good rapport with an audience. Girls were literally screaming and throwing various articles of clothing on the stage. Joe Elliott seemed really amused by this and Phil Collen was eating it up.
Musically, the band sounded great. There was no opening act. The band came on around 8:15 PM and played for nearly two hours. I was tremendously disappointed that they didn't play any songs from their older albums. The played Let It Go from High 'n Dry, but nothing from On Through the Night. Otherwise, it was a concert to be remembered. I know my daughter and i will never forget the time we spent there together.
