“Bec hurry up, their almost on!" Cassidy called turning the volume up.
“Popcorn? Princess…” Becca laughed hurrying back to the loungeroom with a bowlful of popcorn.
“Damn right…” Cassidy laughed, taking a handful.

“Ok guys you’re on in 3.2.1.”

Crowd Screams

“Hey guys!! Today we’ve got the Backstreet Boys in the house!!”

More screams

“Hi I’m Brian!”
“I’m Kevin”
“What’s up this is AJ!”
“Hey this is Nick..”
“Hi I’m Howie D!”

“Wow it looks like we’ve got some big fans in the audience!” The host smiles at the audience.
“Sure does, how are y’all today?” Brian waved at the audience.

Audience goes crazy

“Oh there they are!” Cassidy said excitedly.
“Yeah I’m seeing them Cass…” Becca laughed.
Cassidy looked at Nick and her smiled faded.

“Who picked up his cell phone earlier?” Cassidy asked herself for the 100th time.

“Ok today we’ve got some questions from our studio audience, don’t worry they’re pretty relaxed ones…nothing hard..” The try hard host smiled widely at the camera. The boys joked around and wiped away imaginary sweat from their foreheads.
“Ok first up from Belinda in Toronto…"

"How are you guys liking Canada??”

“It’s always great coming to Canada! The fans are so loyal here!” Kevin smiled.
“Oh yeah!! Is it just us or are you guys getting louder!” Howie joked.

Crowd screams

The host laughed. “Wow this is a different one. This is from Kathleen in Vancouver.”

“Do you guys have ‘innie’ or ‘outie’ bellybuttons?” The guys immediately laughed.

Howie laughed. “Umm…well I’ve got an ‘innie’..”
“Yeah me too…” Kevin smiled.
“Uhh…I’m not quite sure..” Brian grinned looking down his shirt.
“Yup I’ve got an ‘innie’ too!” He laughed.
“Hmm…mine’s kind of an ‘innie/outie’…umm it that possible?” Nick grinned.

Cassidy’s smile returned, she couldn’t help it. Nick just seemed to have that effect on her.

AJ lifted up his shirt, revealing his 69 tattoo.
“I think mine’s an ‘innie’..” He said studying his belly button.
“You just wanna show off your tat!” Brian laughed. Nick pulled AJ’s shirt back down.

The host laughed again as the crowd went wild. “Speaking of tattoos, who has one, and where?”

“I’ve got a lot!” AJ said extending his arms.
“I’ve got three now…I just got this new one..” Nick said, rolling up his sleeve to reveal his armband.
“Well as some of you know I had mine extended…” Brian added.
“I’ve got one..” Kevin said in his deep voice.

Becca and Cassidy giggled.
“Where’s Kev’s?” Becca asked intrigued.
“Umm…I’m not sure, I’ve never seen it, wonder where it is..” Cassidy raised her eyebrows then grinned.
“Oh! You know where it’d be really hot? Like, on his tailbone, like just below his waistband..” Becca sighed.
“Oh yeah! That would look hot!” Cassidy agreed, not letting on the fact that she was picturing it on Nick.

“I haven’t got any, I'm scared of needles!” Howie said wrinkling up his nose. The guys all teased him.

“One day we’re gonna jump on him and take him to get one done!” Nick laughed.

“Ok moving along. This question is from Laura in Montreal."

"Do you feel that you guys have missed out on anything by being a part of the BSB?”

The guys thought about it for a little bit. Then Nick spoke.

“Well I never really went to high school…I’ve had tutors and not going to my prom was a pretty big thing I suppose….but when you look at everything else we’ve done, I mean we’ve travelled the world doing what each of us love so…I guess its not so bad..” He smiled at the audience who screamed in return.

“Ok girls, what you've all been waiting for! Guys it’s l-o-v-e time!” The host announced and the boys inwardly groaned but kept smiling.

“First of all, Nick, there’s been rumors that you’re dating the up and coming star Mandah…are these true?”

The nosey host focused on Nick who’s smile immediately faded.

“Shit here we go…” Becca said quietly.
“Uhh….well actually…we uhhh…” Nick looked so uncomfortable up there, Cassidy felt all her sympathy going out to him.

Brian could see that Nick was in trouble so decided to step in.
“Well ladies, lets just put it this way….Mr Carter is a single man….maybe one of you out there could be the lucky one!” He laughed pointing at the audience who went absolutely crazy in response.

“Ooooo nice save Brian…” Becca smiled.
Nick gave Brian a grateful look and then played along.

“Yeah that’s right…but there’s so many beautiful women in here…how the hell am I supposed to choose just one! That’s it! Y’all coming home with ME tonight!” Nick laughed and covered his ears as screams that could have shook the rictor scale rang through the room.

“Well that’s cool….how about the rest of you guys? Howie…?” The host would just not let it slip.
“Uhh…seeing someone…” Howie said quickly.
“Single and ready to play..” AJ winked. (Screams)
“Yup same here….single and loving it…” Kevin smiled.
“Nothing serious….” Brian said almost deliberately, as if almost reading from a script. Becca laughed.

“Ok I know that’s what we agreed on…..but you could have elaborated a little sweetie…” Becca and Cassidy were in fits of laughter at Brian’s worried expression as they went to a break.
“God Becca he’s so whipped…” Cassidy wiped a ‘laugh’ tear from her eye.
“Of course he is dammit! I have him under my spell…” Becca said mysteriously.
“Hmmm….starting to scare me now…please stop..” Cassidy giggled.
“Shhhh….they’re back on..” Becca said and moved her attention to the screen.

“Ok guys here’s a question from an audience member…” The host walked over to the audience where a pretty brunette in a bsb tee shirt was standing nervously. She looked at the guys when the host gave her the Mic and smiled.

“Umm…hi guys, my name’s Emily and I love you so much! My question is…umm…if you were president for a day what would you do?”

The guys smiled at the sweet girl. This is the part of the job they loved, interacting with their fans. They thought that this is what interviews should be about, not some host who didn’t even know them asking everything about their personal lives.
“Hmmm…..that’s a toughie…” Brian scratched his head making the crowd laugh.
“I’d just run around the White House naked….that’d be cool…” AJ said thoughtfully. The guys just looked at him and shook their heads.
“Hmm…I’ve never been to the White House….do you think that you’re allowed to take the guided tour if you’re the president?” Kevin asked laughing.
“Uhhh…I guess so…maybe you could have your own private tour!!” Nick laughed.
“That would be cool..” Kevin laughed.
“What about you Nick….?” Emily inquired, Nick obviously her favourite.
“Ummmmm……I’d hook my 64 up to one of those huge screens that they use for the battle strategies and stuff....have you seen those screens man? They’re huge! That’d be awesome….” Nick replied describing with his arms.
“Ohhhh….I’d get a swimming pool and fill it with jello!!! And then jump in and squish around…that would be the coolest!” Brian said nodding.

“HE REMEMBERED!!!!” Becca screamed. (CN: for those that don’t know, Becca’s life long ambition is to fill a kiddie wadding pool full of jelly! (jello))
“Oh my god…” Cassidy shook her head laughing. “You’re never gonna do it Bec..”
“DON’T DOUBT! I WILL I TELL YOU!!!” Becca yelled, and then composed herself.
“You’re a fool…but I love ya..” Cassidy said.
“SHHHHH….” Becca put a finger to her lips.
“Yes Ma’am…” Cassidy laughed.

“Ok…next question…” The host moved over to another girl, in a tank top and khakis.
“Hey guys! Well I know we all love listening to your music…but what are your favourite CD’s…at the moment..” The girl asked, her voice shaking a little.

“Hmmm….I got Macy Gray’s CD yesterday….it’s awesome, she’s so unique, so strong…” Kevin replied.
“You think she’s sexy, dontcha Kevvie Kev..?” Nick asked teasingly.
“Yeah, I like a strong woman...she’d kick you’re butt anyday Carter…” Kevin laughed.
“HEY! I resent that…but seriously, she’s very cool…” Nick covered, making sure that Macy Gray wasn’t going to attack him at the next award show for disrespecting her.(CN: Man, have you seen how HUGE that woman is..holy damn..)
“Hmmm…..I’ve been going through all my old CD’s lately…and man there’s some classics in there! Did you know that I had a Barry White album?” AJ laughed.
“I didn’t know that…..why the hell did you get a Barry White album?” Nick laughed.
“Honestly….I have no idea….but yes Nick, before you ask, you CAN borrow it…” AJ replied and the rest of the boys cracked up.
“Hey, I don’t wanna borrow it..” Nick defended.
“Sure Nick, he’s the ‘King of Bedroom soul’…..you could always use a little help in that department…” Kevin raised his eyes suggestively.
Nick turned bright red and the audience went crazy. It was pretty unusual for the boys to get this personal interview, but today they were letting it all hang out, and the fans were loving the opportunity to see such an intimate side of the boys personality.
“I’ve got Marc Antony’s new album….it’s very good..” Howie said sweetly.
“Oh! I’ve been listening to Brian McKnight’s ‘Back at One’ album on the bus….it’s the best!” Brian added.

“THAT’S WHERE IT WENT!!” Cassidy yelled.
“He must have kept it in his discman from when he had it…” Becca laughed at Cassidy’s angry expression.
“I’m gonna kick his butt…..that’s my favourite CD!” Cassidy folded her arms.
“Get over it Cass…” Becca rolled her eyes.
“Hmm…I’m glad you’re comfortable with the fact that your toyboy is a ‘favourite CD snatcher’!” Cassidy pouted.
“You’ll get it back….now for the last time….SHHHHHHH!!!!!” Becca laughed.

“Ok guys well we want to thank you so much for coming, we know how busy you guys are! But before the boys leave us, they’re gonna give us a special acapella version of ‘I want it that way’..”
The guys took the stage and sang their hearts out. All doing little waves to the audience and funny faces at the camera that made the girls laugh.
“What’s with Brian and the leg thing?” Cassidy laughed.
“Shutup its cool…meanwhile what about Nick and the scrunching up his face thing??” Becca replied.
“That’s good! At least he’s putting emotion into it! Meanwhile if Brian could stop waving and saying ‘hello’ for one second!!” Cassidy laughed.
“That’s cu….ummm…Cass, are you hearing us right now…” Becca laughed.
“Hmmm….I see your point…lets stop now..” Cassidy replied.
“Ok.” Becca smiled.

Canada

“And that’s off-air!…Great show guys!” One of the boys representatives said as the boys walked off stage.
“Thanks! I haven’t had that much fun in an interview in ages! Those fans were really sweet..” Kevin smiled. The boys all nodded in agreement and headed straight outside for the bus before the fans could get outside.
Nick began to turn to follow the others when a pair of arms wrapped around him.
“Nice work…” Amber's voice came from behind him.
“Uhh…thanks Amber..” Nick said gently unwrapping himself from Amber’s grasp and looking around cautiously for fans or media.
“You not happy to see me?” Amber pouted.
“Nooo…it’s not that, it’s just..” Nick lowered his voice and pointed to a camera crew.
“Ohhh I get it…” Amber clicked on.
“Yeah….so we better be going..” Nick looked around to see that the others had already left.
“Yeah I think so! I don’t think I’d be able to save you from a pack of ravid fans…” Amber laughed.
“No I don’t think you could either!!” Nick smiled at Amber.

“Especially not after you promised to take them all home tonight…” Amber raised her eyebrows.
“Uhhh…that…that was just to make a joke…to get off the subject…” Nick blushed.
“Oh well that’s good then..” Amber said.
“Why?” Nick asked.
“Because…” Amber stopped walking and Nick looked at her. She reached up and played with his collar.
“Because…I was hoping that you’d promise to take me home tonight…” Amber whispered and kissed Nick quickly and then looking around ran ahead into the bus that was waiting by the back entrance.
“Hmmmm…I might yet…” Nick thought to himself before running onto the bus.
