Meeting the folks....well the mom!

Nick quickly pulled up outside his house and ran around to Cassidy’s door.
“Nick! What are you doing??” Cassidy asked confused.
“Helping you cool down...” Nick said opening her door and throwing her over his shoulder.
“Nick!! Put me down, I’m not in the mood...” Cassidy yelled.
“Well you should be...” Nick said fiddling with his keys in the lock.
Cassidy stopped squirming and began to laugh.
“Do you know how stupid we probably look right now?”
“I don’t care!” Nick laughed and finally opened the door, running out to the pool area.
“Nick don’t you dare! Nick!!” Cassidy screamed as Nick dropped her into the pool.
“Urgh!! I hate you!!” Cassidy yelled trying to catch her breath.
Nick laughed as he pulled off his shirt and jumped in with her.
He swam over to Cassidy, wrapping his arms around her small form.
“I can’t believe you did that..” Cassidy pouted at her wet clothes.
“You need to laugh...” Nick kissed her forehead.
“I’m just worried...” Cassidy said quietly.
“She’s a big girl Cass...” Nick sympathized.
“I know....but...” Cassidy started.
“Shhh....” Nick silenced her with his lips, kissing her gently. Cassidy broke away splashing Nick in the face.
“That’s for throwing me in the pool...” She laughed.

Brian and Becca soon pulled up, walking into Nick’s house.
Splashing and squeals came form the pool area.
Becca laughed as she saw Cassidy being thrown across the pool.
“Think it’s safe??” She grinned looking over at Brian.
“You know, Nick’s got some water guns in the house...”
“Do we dare?” Becca grinned evilly.
“Hell yes..” Brian laughed as they ran inside.

“Where did Brian and Becca go?” Nick looked up thoughtfully.
“Maybe they just left to give us some privacy...” Cassidy grinned reaching out for Nick.
“I’m happy with that answer...” Nick laughed softly and swam into Cassidys arms.

“Ok ready??” Becca giggled as they finished filling the waterguns.
“Yep, lets go!!” Brian said as they hurried outside quietly.
“Ohh...excellent...” Becca whispered as they saw Nick and Cassidy locked in a fiery embrace.
“Ready...” Brian whispered and jogged up behind the kissing couple.
Becca nodded and silently counted to three.

“AHHHH!!!!” Nick and Cassidy both screamed as Brian and Becca sprayed freezing cold water over them.
“Stop it!!” Cassidy squealed, splashing Becca with water from the pool.

Jane Carter appeared from the door and was splashed also by Cassidy.
“OOpps!!! I’m soooo sorry!!” Cassidy apologized her mouth falling open.
“Errr....that’s alright...Nick, can I talk to you for a second...” Jane smiled and gave Brian a little wave.
“Yeah sure...” Nick jumped out of the pool and followed his mum into the house grabbing a towel and wrapping it around himself.

“What’s up mom......you wanna drink or something??” Nick asked sweetly as they headed into the kitchen.
“Nothing up Nick, I just wanted to see how my baby boy is going! I hardly ever see you anymore...you haven’t even introduced me to your new girlfriend out there...” Jane grinned.
“How do you know she’s my...’’ Nick stuttered.
“I’m your mom honey.....that’s how..” Jane laughed.
“Oh ok...” Nick smiled and handed Jane a drink.
“Sooo....’’ Jane inquired.
“So what??” Nick asked confused.
“Cute accent, who is she? She’s not just using you for a green card is she??” Jane became more serious.
“Mom!!”’ Nick sighed.
“What?? I’m not allowed to be a doting mother??” She softened.
“Her name is Cassidy Gellar....she’s from Australia...”
“I’ve heard about those Australian girls...” Jane began warily.
“What?? Mom!” Nick rolled his eyes frustrated.
“Sorry...I’m sorry...its just, you know you have to be so careful Nick..” Jane replied.
“Yeah I know I do!! But Cassidy is so different, she didn’t even know who I was when we first met.....I know what I’m doing..”
“Sure you do...just like you did with Mandy..” Jane regretted saying that as soon as it left her mouth.
Nick looked almost hurt for a second and looked down at his hands not saying anything. Jane sighed.
“I’m really sorry Nick...I’m just so protective of you, and I don’t want to ever see you hurt like with Mandy...” She apologized.
“Its not gonna happen Mum....now do you wanna meet her??” He offered.
“Yeah...” Jane smiled and linked arms with Nick as they walked back out to the pool area.

“Brian quit it!!” Becca laughed as Brian squirted her with water.
“Do you think she looked pissed??” Cassidy asked Becca worriedly.
“No! Shocked maybe, but not pissed. Stop stressing Cass!” Becca laughed as she tried to reassure her friend.
“Hi Jane...” Brian acknowledged as she and Nick returned from the kitchen.
“Hi Bri...how are you?” Jane asked casually.
“Great thanks...”
“And your parents?” Jane asked momentarily looked over at Becca and Cassidy.
Cassidy saw this and shot Becca another worried expression.
Nick came up behind Cassidy and wrapped his arms around her waist.
“Don’t stress Cass....” He whispered into her ear.
“Mom, this is my girlfriend Cassidy and her friend Rebecca...” Nick smiled sweetly.
“Nice to meet you, Nick’s said you come from Australia...” Jane replied.
“Hi Mrs. Carter.....” Cassidy smiled trying not to look to nervous as she shook her hand.
“Yeah, we moved here about 4 months ago...” Rebecca replied sweetly.
“Well I’m sorry to make this visit so short, but I’ve got to pick Aaron and Angel up...I’ll catch up with you later Nick..nice meeting you Cassidy...” Jane smiled as Nick saw her out to the door.

“She seems nice Nickolas...” Jane smiled.
“I think she was a little nervous...” Nick grinned.
“Yeah I think I might have scared her...” Jane laughed.
“Ok well I’ll talk to you later Mom...” Nick kissed her on the cheek.
“Bye Nick...” Jane waved as she headed to her car.

“She hates me!” Cassidy sat by the pool worrying.
“No she doesn’t sweetie!” Becca tried to reassure Cassidy while Brian was laughing his ass off.
“Bri! You’re not helping here!” Becca said seriously. Brian stopped laughing and came and sat by Cassidy and Becca.
“Cass, she doesn’t hate you, its just that she’s really protective of Nick, especially after Mandy...” Brian soothed which seemed to make Cassidy feel a little better.
“Thanks...” Becca smiled leaning over and kissing Brian.
Nick soon came in and scooped Cassidy up in his arms.
“Does she hate me...” Cassidy asked timidly.
“She loves you! How could anyone hate someone as beautiful as you...” Nick grinned as Cassidy thanked him with her lips.
