Breakfast in Bed

Becca opened her eyes slowly. She looked across at Brian who looked so peaceful as he slept.
Becca gently wriggled out of his arms, careful not to wake him. She quickly threw a robe over her bare body and tiptoed over to the kettle and put it onto boil.
Yawning she walked over to the window and drew back the curtain. Their view was of a quaint little park with old statues that matched the old European buildings that lined the streets. Snow was gently falling outside and Becca thought it was the most beautiful thing she’d ever seen.
“Nice huh?” A voice whispered in her ear and wrapped themselves tightly around her waist.
“Mmm....morning baby...” Becca reached one hand behind her and lovingly stroked Brian’s hair as they continued to admire the falling snow.
“You want coffee??” Becca asked pecking Brian on the lips as she heard the kettle whistle. She went to turn it off.
“Sounds good...” Brian nodded and followed her.
“Hey guys...” Cassidy walked in the door...fresh faced and fully dressed.
“Have I ever told you I hate your perkiness in the morning?!?” Becca rolled her eyes laughing.
“Too many times babe...” Cassidy replied sarcastically.
“What are you guys doing for breakfast?” Cassidy asked.
“I thought we’d get dressed and have some in the hotel restaurant..” Brian suggested and Becca nodded.
“Oh, cool, well can you do that now...cause I’m gonna cook me and Nick some brekkie....I’ve already been to the supermarket down the road...” Cassidy held up two shopping bags sheepishly.
Brian laughed.
“Hmm...someone couldn’t sleep...” He chuckled throwing on a clean shirt.
“That’s right.....so if you don’t mind....” Cassidy urged as she began to look in the cupboards of the self-contained kitchen for a frying pan.
“Yeah yeah.....just let me throw some clothes on...” Becca walked into the bathroom and shut the door.

“You ok Cassidy? You seem...a little...uhh...pre-occupied..” Brian studied her.
“Hmm....what? Oh, yeah,..I’m fine..” Cassidy nodded pulling a frying pan out of the cupboard and placing some eggs on the bench.
“Uhh...ok then...but if you ever need to talk..” Brian offered.
“Thanks Bri...” Cassidy replied sincerely.

Becca walked out in a knee length floral dress and her hair up in a pink clip.
“Oooo...someone looks hot...” Cassidy teased.
“Yeah well....” Becca laughed and took Brian’s hand as they walked out of the room.
“Ok, now.....breakfast...” Cassidy took a deep breath and began to put her plan into action.

Kirstie felt a hand on her shoulder, gently rocking her.
“Kirstie...Kirstie sweetie...it’s 9am..do you want some breakfast?”
Kirstie opened her eyes and was met by AJ’s smiling face.
“You hungry?” AJ asked his brows creasing a little.
Kirstie just nodded and sat up in her bed.
“I’m famished...”’ She admitted.
“Cool....I got enough for two...” AJ said excitedly and sat on her bed, pulling out a big brown paper bag.
“Aww....AJ you shouldn’t have!” Kirstie laughed as AJ handed her the biggest blueberry muffin she’d ever seen in her life.
“My treat for you....I know you’ve been having a bit of a rough time lately...” AJ replied knowingly.
“Yeah well that’s behind me now...and if this is my new life...than I’m pretty damn happy!” Kirstie laughed.
“You go girl...” AJ smiled handing Kirstie an apple.

Nick reached for Cassidy. When he felt nothing he opened his eyes. There was nothing but disheveled sheets beside him.
“Cassidy?” He looked around the room confused when his eyes fell upon a bunch of roses by the door.
Smiling to himself he got out of bed and walked over, picking them up.
Nick opened the attached card that simply read.

“Hungry?”

Nick looked at the roses again confused, and saw that there was a red ribbon tied to the stem of the roses that continued under the door out into the hallway.
Nick grinned and opened the door, following the red ribbon, collecting it as he walked along the hallway.
It stopped at the door of Cassidy and Becca’s room.
Nick couldn’t stop smiling as he knocked softly on the door.
“Come in...” Cassidy answered as she placed two plates on the table.
Nick cautiously opened the door as the scent of Bacon, eggs and cheesy bread drifted towards him. Cassidy appeared with two glasses of juice.
“Oh my god....you did this??” Nick couldn’t believe the effort she’d gone to....it was the sweetest thing anyone had ever done for him.
“Of course...” Cassidy giggled as Nick engulfed her in his arms.
“But...why??” He asked, still bemused as he stared at the roses and length of ribbon that now sat in a heap on the bed.
“Because you’re so special......to me...” Cassidy gently put her hand on his cheek. She kissed him sweetly, a perfect kiss. She slowly pulled away, their eyes locked on each other.
“You hungry?” She asked.
“Mmm....for you..”
Cassidy just shook her head and leant against Nick’s chest. He smiled pulling her closer. the intoxicating smell of her hair driving him wild.

Nick carefully lifter her chin, searching her eyes with his own baby blues. He leaned closer to kiss her, then pulled away a little, teasing her. A small smile played on his lips.
“I love...” He began.
“Shhh....” Cassidy placed her finger on his lips.
“I heard you last night.....” Cassidy admitted looking away.
“What?? Why didn’t you say someth....” Nick replied shocked. Before he could finish Cassidy pulled him in for a passionate kiss, their tongues intwining with each other.
Nick broke away. He searched Cassidy’s eyes once more for an answer. Cassidy kissed his neck.
“I love you Nick....” She whispered in his ear.
Nick let out a small sigh and closed his eyes relieved. Absolute joy overwhelmed him as Cassidy leant back against his chest contented.
“I’m sorry about last night...” Nick said softly.
“It’s ok Nick...” Cassidy looked up.
“No its not, I shouldn’t have pressured you...” He said kissing her forehead.
“Come on lets eat...” She smiled, taking his hand.
