Hiding

“When are the girls getting here?” AJ asked as they stood in a dressing room and Krissy helped them into their blue vests.
“Uhh…pretty soon..when are you gonna make your move?” Kevin asked grinning.
“What? Move on who?” AJ tried to play dumb.
“You know who Bone..” Howie chimed in.
“I don’t know what…” AJ began.
“Oh come on AJ…it’s so obvious that you adore Kirstie..” Brian pointed out.
Krissy’s ears pricked as she was clipping Nick’s vest. Being wardrobe mistress obviously equaled getting into the gossip, although she tried hard to act like she wasn’t listening.
“Is that ok?” She asked Nick when she finished.
“Umm….it’s actually a little tight..” He admitted laughing.
“Oops! Ok, no problem..” Krissy smiled and set to work loosening the clips.

“Fanclub’s here!” Cassidy announced as she, Becca and Kirstie entered the room.
“Lookin’ good..” Becca stepped back and gave the boys the once over in their smashing blue ‘soldier vests’.

Denise poked her head in the room.
“You’re on in 15..” She smiled.
“Ok, we’re coming..” AJ nodded.
Krissy looked the boys over.
“Ok it looks like everything’s ok here..I’ll go check the dancers..”
The boys resounded their thankyou’s as she left the room.

“Oh I do love a man in uniform..” Cassidy giggled softly.
“Uhuh…” Becca laughed running a finger down Brian’s chest as he wrapped his arms around her waist.

“I’m gonna get some fresh air, Kirstie you want to join me outside…” AJ asked.
“Yeah sure…”
Kevin and Howie gave each other the “told you so” look before heading to their surfboards backstage.

“Mmmmm…I believe a good luck kiss is in order…” Nick grinned cheekily.
“You do huh?!” Cassidy spun Nick around, inspecting his outfit.
“You like….”Nick grinned.
“Oh yeah, and the hair….I just wanna eat you up….” Cassidy grinned sexily.
Nick did a double take, “Did you just…….”
“Come here soldier boy….” She grinned pulling him close.

“Ok I gotto get going….” Brian moved around fidgetitively.
“Brian you’re not…NERVOUS, are you??” Becca asked him with an amused expression on her face.
“NO……ok maybe a little…..” Brian admitted.
“Aww, Brian Littrell, big star has butterflies…..”Becca wrapped her arms around his waist.
“You’ll do great….” Becca whispered in his ear.
“Mmmmm…I’ll look out for you,” He smiled, calming down a little.
Becca kissed his lips slowly, rolling her tongue over his. Brian broke away grinning, “ Now I’m gonna be grinning like an idiot….” He laughed.
“You’d better get going…..” Becca smiled.
“Mmm yeah….cya…..love you….” Brian said kissing her again.
“Love you too….now go….” Becca laughed as he ran back to where the others were waiting.

“Go get ‘em….” Cassidy grinned, slapping Nick on the butt as he too began to walk out of the room.
“Uhuh! Wait!!” Cassidy called Nick back.
“Huh?” He spun around.
Cassidy looked around and grabbed the tub of gel that was sitting on the bench. She rubbed some on her hands and, standing on her tiptoes ran her hands through his hair, spiking it up a little.
“So hot…..” Cassidy shook her head grinning. Nick laughed and kissed her on the cheek “Love you…” He whispered and headed for the door. He soon poked his head back in the room, “You and me are gonna hook up later….” He promised.
“Uhuh Nick….” Cassidy shook her head laughing.

“I can’t wait for this show tonight….” Kirstie said excitedly to AJ.
“You better scream loud and wave and throw your bra at me and stuff….” AJ laughed.
“AJ!!” Kirstie slapped him playfully.
“You wish I would throw…..” Kirstie began but was cut off when AJ suddenly pulled her to him and kissed her passionately.
Kirstie felt shock register, but her heart got the better of her brain and she kissed AJ back with equal passion….until she began to realise what she was doing. She pulled away and looked at him confused.
“What the hell was that??” Kirstie asked angrily.
“Kirstie you’re driving me crazy…” AJ admitted.
“AJ…..I really don’t need this right now…” Kirstie said flustered.
“Look, I know you’re scared….but I am too…” AJ tried to explain.
“AJ stop it! You don’t know what I’m feeling!” Kirstie replied emotionally.
“Kirstie! Stop trying to push all those feelings away….I know you want this too….I felt it in your kiss…” AJ pleaded with his eyes.
“I can’t deal with this right now….I’m sorry AJ ….” Kirstie walked away quickly down the corridor.
AJ just shook his head deflated and began walking to the stage setup area.

“Hold up Becca I’d better put this gel away….” Cassidy said opening the cupboard. Two girls suddenly began to scream. “AAHHHHhhhh!!!” Cassidy screamed also, promptly shutting the cupboard.
“What the hell was that?!” Becca asked, eyes wide.
“Ummm Bec…..I think there’s some fans hiding in the cupboard!” Cassidy said quickly.
“What!?” Becca asked.
“You heard me…..” Cassidy said flustered.
Becca walked over and slowly began to open the cupboard. Camera flashes soon blinded her face.
“Woah!!” She took a few steps back, shielding her face as two pretty girls emerged from the cupboard.
“Ummm….hi……whatcha doing??” Cassidy asked, a little taken back by the girls who looked about 16.
“Ummm….kinda hiding out….” One of the girls admitted sheepishly.
“But the show’s about to start?” Becca replied confused.
“It’d be worth missing…..just to meet them in person…” The second girl added dreamily.
“Uhhh…how long you been in here??” Cassidy asked amazed.
“About three hours….my legs really hurt…” The first girl replied sitting on a couch.
“Wow….” Becca laughed a little.
“I’m Cassidy by the way….” Cassidy introduced herself.
“And I’m Becca….” Becca added.
“Talia…..and this is Dominique…”
“Well, uhh…” Becca looked at Cassidy unsurely.
“You’re gonna get us kicked out right??” Talia guessed.
“That’s’ what Mandy did….” Dominique said bitterly.
“What??” Cassidy asked quickly.
“Umm…Well this kinda isn’t the first time we’ve done this….” Talia said sheepishly.
“Yeah….” Cassidy laughed softly.
“The last time we hid in the toilet….and Mandy came in….called us bitches and had us removed by security…and we weren’t even allowed to watch the show!” Dominique informed the girls.
“That girl has issues…” Becca shook her head.
“You know her personally??” Talia asked.
“yeah ummmm……we’ve the pleasure to meet her…” Cassidy said through gritted teeth.
“Well….” Cassidy thought for a little while before she spoke next.
“How about you guys come and sit up in the front with us….It’ll take you forever to find you’re seats otherwise…and then we’ll see if we can arrange you two to get in the meet and great after the show…” Cassidy offered.
Both girls looked at each other and squealed excitedly.
“Omigod thank you so much!!” The girls hugged Becca and Cassidy tightly.
“Now I know why Nick and Bri must love you guys so much!” Talia smiled sweetly.
“Uhh…how did you know??” Becca asked confused.
“Net mostly, a few sightings…don’t worry, it’s pretty much been all nice stuff….but you know, there’s always going be anti-girlfriend stuff…..You’re a lot more popular than Leighanne and Mandy, especially Mandy were…” Dominique informed them.
“Cool…” Becca smiled.
“Ummm……guys? We’re missing some Nick watching here guys…” Cassidy giggled.
“No way! It’s Kevin for us!!” The girls giggled.
“Kevin lovers?? Alrighty….” Cassidy laughed as they walked down the corridor and into the pumping arena.

“Hey Kirst…” Becca smiled as they took their seats up the front.
“Look who we found…….Kirstie, this is Talia and Dominique….” Cassidy smiled, introducing the two girls.
“Hi…..” Kirstie smiled, although she had a million thoughts running through her head.
“Kirstie, Kirstie….haven’t seen anything about you on the net……who’s girlfriend are you?” Dominique asked.
“I Uhhh…..I’m just a friend…” She answered quickly.
“You ok?” Becca whispered into her ear.
“Yeah I’m fine…” Kirstie smiled.
“Hey awesome shirts!” Cassidy laughed as Talia and Dominique put tee shirts with “THANK HEAVEN FOR KEVIN” printed on the front.
“Hey Cool….where’d you get those from?” Becca laughed.
“They were selling them outside……..we got a stack, want one?” Talia said, holding out some more shirts.
“You got any with Nick on ‘em?” Cassidy grinned hopefully.
“Sorry….only Kev one’s…” Talia said.
“Hey Kev’s fine with me!” Becca said taking a tee and slipping to over her outfit.
Cassidy laughed taking a shirt also, “Wonder what Nick an’ Brian will think….”
“Ok….lets get us some eye candy!!” Becca laughed looking up at Brian singing on stage. She waved wildly and he smiled at her, waving a finger off his microphone at her sweetly.

“Oooo…. “The One” I love this song!!” Cassidy squealed as the boys froze in position.
“You guys were in the video clip weren’t you?” Talia yelled over the noise.
“Yeah! That was soooo fun….you know that we had known the boys like…1 day when they asked us to be in that??” Becca laughed shaking her head.
“Yeah we did…” Dominique yelled kind of embarrassed.
“Oookkk…” Cassidy raised her eyebrows and turned her attention back to the stage.

“Kirstie…what happened…” Becca pleaded with her to say something.
“Nothing…” Kirstie yelled.
“Urgh…fine…but you’re a really bad liar…” Cassidy rolled her eyes.

Kirstie had not been able to take her eyes off AJ since the beginning of the concert. And now as he began to sing ‘The One’….he could not take his eyes off her…and she knew that every word came from his heart and was for her only. He pointed to her and then placed his hand on his chest as he began to sing.

“I guess you were lost, when I met you..

Kirstie felt tears stinging in her eyes and it took all her strength to swallow the lump in her throat

Becca and Cassidy noticed this but did not say anything, this was something that Kirstie had to figure out how to deal with without anyone telling her what to do.

AJ fell to his knees and the crowd went absolutely crazy, and Kirstie felt butterflies in her stomach as AJ poured all his emotion into his voice, whilst never taking his eyes off her.

“It feels so right…” She whispered to herself, her voice being lost in the screams.
