It's gonna be me

“I’m bored…” Cassidy sighed.
“Yeah me too…” AJ laughed.
Cassidy, AJ, Brian, Nick, Becca, Howie, Kirstie, Leighanne and Nadine were lounging about in Nick and Brian’s hotel room. The guys had a night off, no concert, their first of the tour.
Denise soon entered the room.
“Well don’t you look like a sorry lot..” She laughed at the blank faces in various lazy positions around the room.
“We’re bored…” Nick said, his head resting in Cassidy’s lap.
“I can see that….well why don’t you do something?” Denise asked, talking to them as if they were 3-year olds.
“There’s nothing to do!” AJ whined.
“What a load! Get out there! Look outside the window….there’s night tours of that palace up there…go get some culture! You could do with some..” She said pointing to the Festung Hohensalzburg palace right outside their hotel window.
“Hmm….we could do that..” Howie said thoughtfully.
“I wanna see an Austrian Palace!” Kirstie said excitedly.
“Yeah me too!” Cassidy enthused.
“Ok….palace it is then…lets meet in the lobby in 10 ok?” Kevin asked.
“Alright…” Everyone headed off to go get ready.

“The Palace has been standing here for over 1000 years…” The guide said to them as they walked through the breathtaking palace.
“Ooo….” Kirstie said as she saw the old stone balcony. She walked out on to it and breathed in the cold night air. She looked up at the sparkling sky, there wasn’t a cloud in sight, and the stars were shining bright over the beautiful city of Salzburg.
“Beautiful huh?” AJ asked coming up behind her.
Kirstie jumped at the sound of his voice.
“Jeez! Don’t you know not to sneak up on people like that!” She said angrily.
“Sorry, I surrender…don’t shoot…” He held up his hands in defence.
Kirstie sighed. “I’m sorry AJ…” She relented.
“That’s cool….why so jumpy?” He asked concerned.
“I’m…uhh….I just have a lot on my mind…” Kirstie said quickly.
“You are such a bad liar…” AJ chuckled softly.
“It’s true!” Kirstie said grinning a little.
“Liar…” He teased.
“Quiet you!” She slapped him playfully. She left her hand there, and it trailed slowly down the chest of his thick jacket.
“Uhhh…” She breathed a small cloud of white air as she watched her hand slowly slide around AJ’s chest.
“Kirstie…” He whispered, covering her gloved hand with his own.
She pulled her hand away and turned back towards the shining city. AJ sighed and stood next to her, leaning on the balcony in silence.

“Can you understand a word this chick is saying??” Becca whispered to Cassidy.
“Nope..” Cassidy giggled.
“You wanna go for a walk in the gardens?” Becca asked.
“Yeah..” Cassidy replied and they walked out of the room, looking closely at the maps of the palace the guide had given them.

“Where’d Becca go?” Brian asked Nick when he could see the girls in the group anymore.
“Out to the gardens with Cassidy…” Nick replied looking a naked statue with a strange expression on his face.
Leighanne’s ears pricked up. This is the opportunity she had been waiting for. Brian and Becca hadn’t left each other’s side since she’d gotten there, and she hadn’t had a chance to talk to Brian at all…but that would change tonight.

“I’m going to check out the… ‘grand ballroom’ …that looks interesting..” Leighanne announced reading from her map.
“You probably shouldn’t go alone…” Nadine said concerned.
“I’ll be alright I guess…” Leighanne said a little quieter, sneaking a look at Brian.
“No, someone should go with you..” Kevin agreed.
Brian felt awful but knew he couldn’t risk something happening to Leighanne.
“I’ll come with you…” He offered quite unenthusiastically.
“Great..” She flashed him a big smile. She linked arms with him and they left through the grandly carpeted walkway.

“Hmm….was that such a great idea?” Nick asked worriedly, watching Brian and Leighanne walk off alone together down the hallway.
“Come on Nick, they can’t go on avoiding each other like that….they’ve gotto get over it, and realise that they can still be friends…” Kevin reasoned.
“Yeah I guess….I trust him…it’s just her I…” Nick started.
“Nick….it’s none of our business…” Howie said warily.
“I know, I know…” Nick replied rolling his eyes.

“Ooo… ‘Royal Baths’ ….sounds interesting..” Nadine giggled at her map.
“Cool, let’s check that out…” Howie looked over her shoulder.
“Coming?” Nadine looked at Kevin and Nick, who were the only two left in the room.
“Nah…..I’m gonna check out the weapons room…..Kev you in?..” Nick grinned mischievously.
“Yeah…..I’d better make sure you don’t kill yourself…” Kevin said as they walked off towards the weaponry room.

“Omigod….this is beautiful…” Leighanne said in awe as she looked around at the mirrored panels and beautifully painted ceiling of the ballroom.
“Dance with me…” She asked innocently, holding out her hand.
“Leighanne……” Brian started.
“What? It’s just a dance……” Leighanne smiled.
“Yeah sure…” Brian relented, taking her hand as their bodies began to slowly sway to the silent music.
“Do you remember the first time we danced together…” Leighanne lay her head on Brian’s shoulder.
“We’re over Leighanne……I’m in love with someone new….” Brian looked at her.
“In love…..” Leighanne asked shocked.
“Yes, I love Rebecca….” Brian smiled. Leighanne cringed inside.
“Like you loved me?!” Leighanne looked Brian straight in the eye.
“Leighanne don’t, you’ll just torture yourself…..we’re over, you made that perfectly clear…” Brian said simply.
“I’ve seen enough in here…” Leighanne said quietly, before leaving the room. Brian shook his head as he followed her out.

“Jeez it’s cold out here!” Cassidy shoved her hands deeper in her coat pocket as they walked in the moonlit gardens outside the palace. There were a few tourists around, posing for various photos and talking in various languages.
“Tell me about it…” Becca laughed as she rubbed her cold nose.
“Look at this place..it’s so beautiful…” Cassidy said as she looked around.
“Yeah…” Becca replied distantly.
“Alright…what’s up?” Cassidy stopped walking and looked at Becca.
“What?” She replied innocently.
“You, miss mopey the third….what’s wrong?” Cassidy asked again.
“I dunno….” Becca sighed.
“Well, is it me?” Cassidy asked with big eyes.
“Yes, that’s it Cassidy…I hate you…damn, you’ve foiled my plans to stab you in the chest with a carving knife…” Becca rolled her eyes.
“Alright alright…you don’t have to get haughty on me…” Cassidy laughed.
“Its Leighanne huh?” Cassidy took a second guess.
“I guess…” Becca admitted.
“Becca! Why do you even care about that little bug! Brian obviously wants nothing to do with her!” Cassidy said exasperatedly.
“They have a history! Even you always say that history counts for something!” Becca defended.
“Yeah I do! And so what about their history! As far as what Nick’s told me…their history is of a selfish relationship where Brian gave and gave till it hurt, and Leighanne just kept taking and didn’t give anything back….and then broke it off, breaking Brian’s heart in the process….” Cassidy said emphatically.
“…what a history…” She finished looking at Becca.
“What if he never got over her?” Becca asked the inevitable.
“Becca…if he never got over her….you and me wouldn’t be here having this conversation…” Cassidy replied quietly.

AJ looked up from the balcony.
“God Kirstie! What do I have to do?? Just tell me..” He said angrily.
“AJ…it’s not about what you have to do…” Kirstie said a little taken back.
“Then what?!” AJ continued.
“I can’t do this any more…it’s too hard…..” Kirstie said, tears threatening in his eyes.
“Do what? Kirstie….I don’t know about you, but from where I’m standing, you’re not doing anything!” AJ said very a-matter-of-factly.
“You don’t have to get smart…” Kirstie rolled her eyes.
“What is your problem?” AJ sighed.
“I think you’re the one with the problem…” Kirstie turned away slightly.
“Oh really, because I make my feelings for you obvious? Because I show that I care? Because I’m not afraid of my desires…” AJ pressed.
“Afraid?” Kirstie turned to him, eyebrows raised.
“Yes. Afraid!” AJ nodded.
“I’m am not afraid of you AJ McLean…” Kirstie crossed her arms in front of her.
“No, I know you’re not….you’re afraid of you..” AJ said pointing a finger into her chest.
Kirstie had no reply. AJ’s words had really hit home and they were the truth, but Kirstie couldn’t admit it.
“You don’t know what your talking about….you’re lovesick and delusional…” She said coldly before pushing past him and walking inside.
