Gotta Tell You

11:30am "Miss Fong? The doctor can see you now….I'll help you get changed…" One of the nurses came into the room and woke Becca from her nap.
"Thanks…" Becca replied wearily.

Beth stood in the crowded room full of cameras and people biting her nails nervously. She hadn't worried about getting a good spot, but rather the spot closest to the back exit so that she could catch them on their way out.

The announcer took the stage.

"Ladies and gentlemen of the press…it is my pleasure to announce, and for once on time….(crowd laughs)…The BACKSTREET BOYS!" He extended his arm and left the stage as the boys walked up the steps and took their seats.

"How ya'll doing?" Kevin smiled as the camera's went crazy and flashes lit up the room like a lighting storm.

"How are you doing Rebecca? Still feeling well?" The doctor asked as Becca sat down across from him in his office.
"Fine thanks…." She smiled.
"Excellent…..now lets have a talk about how you're going to have to look after yourself back home ok?" The doctor smiled warmly at her.
"Alright…"

"This is for Nick…..do you feel that, you're a different person to most…or do you feel different because you never went to high school?" One of the reporters in the front row asked.

"Umm…you know, sometimes you do….feel a little different, or that you missed out or something. I mean, not like I'm inadequate or anything! I'm not inadequate at all!" Nick stressed.

The other guys looked at Nick a little strangely.

"…But I wouldn't swap my life for anything…" Nick quickly put on his trademark smile. (lots more flashes)

"Nothing strenuous…….lots of rest, not too much alcohol or bad foods…." The doctor continued.
"Right…" Becca nodded.
"And uhh…Becca, I know this is none of my business….but I couldn't help noticing that there's some tension with you and your friends…." The doctor said gently.
"Umm…yeah….my boyfriend and I…we're having some…trouble…" Becca looked down at her hands.
"Well….Becca, you can't stress yourself at this time. You're body is a fragile thing at the moment, and any added stress can trigger another attack…so you must be careful of getting into fights and things alright?" The doctor said worriedly.
"I understand…" Becca said softly.

"Hi guys, I'm from 97.8 Europop Fm…..Now that you're famous, how does it feel not knowing if people like you for yourself?" A guy stood and asked the boys.

"That's a good question. A good question that's actually, sort of…come to the fore with us lately actually…" AJ looked at Brian momentarily and then quickly back at the reporter.

"We're just five normal guys that are doing something we want to do….but there does come a point in your life where you don’t' know whether you can trust your own friends….you know? But we do have friends that we've known over the years that are still close to us and haven't sold out. Those are the people we can trust…along with our families. We trust each other. There's always going to be people who are coming and going and you don't know if you can trust them…it just a weird business…" AJ finished with a shrug.

"Ok so that's about it Rebecca….we'll see you tomorrow for a quick check up alright?" The doctor said finally.
"Thanks again….you've been wonderful…" Becca said gratefully. She got up to leave.

"No problems…..Oh! Incase you've been wondering, the baby is absolutely fine and healthy…." The doctor smiled.

"What did you just say…." Becca turned around slowly, her jaw open.

"Well that's about all we've got time for today guys!" The announcer came back onto the stage as the boys got up to leave. The room was once again lit up with flashes as the boys grouped together for a photo opportunity.

This was it. Beth left the room quickly and ran to the back where 3 black vans were waiting to take the boys and their crew onto their next engagement. There were at least 50 fan crowded around the entrance.

Beth managed to push her way to the front as the boys left the building. The screams were deafening as she tried desperately to get their attention as they were ushered past by security.

Nick was in his own world and wore a troubled expression as he was shuffled past. Beth looked past him.
"BRIAN!" She screamed, but it was no use…he was too far away.
AJ and Howie came over to sign some autographs.
"Come on Come on…." She urged as the inched their way down the line.

Just before they came to her, the boys were called by their security to get into the van.

"Sorry guys!" Howie called.
"Oh no…" Beth thought.

"AJ WAIT!!!" She screamed like she'd never screamed before.
AJ turned around shocked….his eyes scanned the crowd until they fell across Beth.
"I'm sorry we can't sign anymore…." He apologized loudly.
"Please! Just take this!!" She stretched her arm with the letter out desperately.
AJ looked at the van he was being called into once, and then back and Beth again. Something in his instinct was telling him that she wasn't an ordinary fan. He looked back at the security and signaled with one finger.

He ran over to Beth and took the letter.
"Its very important AJ! Read it as soon as you get in the van! Please!" Beth yelled above the hysterical screaming around her.
AJ simply nodded and ran to the van, getting in and slamming the door with one more curious look at Beth before the drove off.
