
In 1991, when I was still in the Philippines, and still in High School,
me and my sister and my cousin joined the Philippine Tae Kwon Do Association (PTA)
There were 11 of us in the family who participates, 4 of us First Dan Black Belt.
Me, my sister Mune and my cousin Cathy are my Master's favorites.
He knows we'll bring home the gold.
I was only 5"4, 108 lbs.
so I belonged to the Bantam Weight Division.
I've only won 2 Gold medals,
both on National Tournaments, I know I could've won more if I kept on practicing.
Now, I am 5"6, 135 lbs. and I engage myself into body building and once in a while
I try to spar and practice kicking, they are not that accurate, but I am still
pretty fast.
Tae Kwon Do is the best type of excercise there is; it promotes
self defense,
self esteem,(not that I need it) self confidence, discipline and concentration.
It also increases
your stamina, strenght, flexibility and cardiovascular fitness.
Not only I want to stay fit, I just love the thought of kicking someone's ass!
But when trouble arrives,
I suggest one thing, RUN!!! Better be safe than sorry!
So any tae kwon do practicers out there, you know what I mean! Be safe and have fun!!!
