LIME's How Well Do You Know Singapore' Quiz
-What did you expect the weather here to be like ?
All: We knew it would be hot. that's an easy one !
- & the people ?
L: I heard they're not
too tall ! I'm so glad cos I'm....er...not to tall myself ! 
-Okay, wess up. Who's got chewing gum ?
L & S : Jimmy has it !
J: Hey, I didn't know the ban before I came !
-Let's play a food game. I'll name a local speciality & you tell me what you think it is. We'll start with "Otak".
J: Eh? It means toilet ?? Was I right ?
-No, remember we're talking food here.
J: Well, then, I give up.
-How about "Rojak" ?
S: It's fish. It sounds like a type of fish.
-"Mee Siam" ?
L: I know ! it means "hello" in some dialect !
All: It's supposed to be food !
-" urtabak" ?
L: Chips. It has that crispy sound.
-"Chee Cheong Fun" ?
J: This one sounds more like chips. All that "Chee chee" sound !
-Okay, Spike you want to try "Pei tan chok" ?
S: Sounds like beans & chips to me !
As you can see, 911 have failed miserably in our quiz ! This guys bug me
for the correct answers but I refuse to give in- until I hear Lee greeting
everyone with "Mee siam", "Mee siam" !
I beginning to form impressions of the three. Jimmy's the serious one,
Spike's the funny one & Lee, well, he's a born charmer. Ask him if he's free to be
interviewed & he coos seductively,"free for you..."
He then proceeds to give me his undivided attention with
his face approximately 25 cm away & our knees bumping
cosily.
Lunch finally arrives & the guys attack their McChicken
& fries with glee. Stomachs full, it back to the photo
shoot. Surprisungly, they're all a wee bit conservative.
They each stake out a corner behind the sofa to change into their outfits.
I spy Lee struggling to change his pants as modestly as possible & can't
help comparing 911 to certain UK boyband recently in town. One daring
member dropped his pants just to show me a burn mark on his thigh ! I don't
expect such shenanigans from this lot.
The photo shoot begins. Lee's the happy smiles, Jimmy's got the best bod &
Spike's goofy look makes him the most endearing of all !! Over a short break,
the guys tell me that when they make megabucks ( as if they don't already ! )
they want to buy houses near their families.
Confides Spike: I've 2 brothers who are both solicitors. I'm the middle one. When
911 was first formed & things were so uncertain,
my family told me, " Never mind, if things don't go right,
you join your brothers as solicitors. "
One final click & the shoots' over. Our boys prepare to
leave for perfect 10. A hug & kiss later & they're gone.
A crowed of schoolgirls are waiting for them at the
doorway cameras a-clicking, flowers a-waving.
