Encore : If Only Tonight We Could Sleep, The Kiss

Forest National was sold out yesterday evening. After a long wait in the cold - as everybody wanted to be as close from the stage as possible, it was a nice idea to let the audience get inside the building to hear the soundcheck through the locked doors. After a long long wait, the band came on stage. Really concentrated. What a delight it was to listen to the whole Pornography album. The high peaks were for me A Short term Effect, The Hanging garden & Pornography. This song is so great live.

After a 20 mins break, we heard the bells ringing and the band came back on stage to play Plainsong. Back to 1989. 7 years went very fast said Robert. It was a real kick to hear Closedown, The Same Deep Water and Homesick.

Another 20 mins break and the boys came back to play Bloodflowers. I have to admit that Bloodflowers is not my favourite album. But since yesterday, I changed my mind, and I will listen more carefully to it. To me Loudest Sound, Watching me Fall and Maybe Someday were brilliant. When Bloodflowers was finished the boys left the stage, and surprisingly the did not say goodbye.

So, after a short break, they came back on stage, and started playing If Only tonight... Brilliant. The best was yet to come though. A Fantastic, really powerful version of The Kiss. A wonderful way to end a marvelous concert. Thank you. See you next year

A Forest, Forever

100 years, Fascination Street, Bloodflowers

Arrived at 5pm in Hamburg, I was stuck in a huge traffic jam, due to a football match. Found a hotel room at 7 and arrived at the Color Line Arena pretty late. I had the bad suprise to see that the first arrived fans were in a sort of pit separated from the rest of the audience by a barrier.

I hoped that did not play any songs they played in Brussels. The show started with Want. The very first surprise was Shake Dog Shake. Really powerful. It was fantastic to hear a Night like this again, and I knew the evening would be fantastic. The Kiss, Torture and Charlotte Sometimes were by far the best moments, before they started Shiver & Shake. What a set !

The first encore was truly amazing. How cool it was to hear Grinding Halt... I had a lot of fun during the poppy encore, which I found really refreshing.

It was no surprise to hear a Forest in what I thought would be the last encore. I couldnt believe that Robert started Forever. This song is really magic. It was so long & powerful. Absolutely brilliant.

Surprise. Robert didn't say "Thank you Good Night". I was secretly hoping to hear a 10 mins version of Faith. The band came back on stage. Robert said something like "maybe I shouldn't do this", and they started playing 100 Years, Pictures of you and Bloodlfowers, ending this non-trilogy concert by a little trilogy.

Wonderful concert.
