A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to crop WB’s Barry Watson. This week, I was able to buzz a friend of his, David Chokachi (Cody on Baywatch). David was tired of the image and wanted a change and Barry Watson recommended me. So, in walks buff- and-blond beach boy-stud-muffin-extrodinair David Chokachi. (I didn’t over do that did I?) David plops down on the chair his thick blond hair bouncing over his eyes. Make it short and low maintenance, just don’t chop it all off. (Darn.)

His thick, blond hair was 2” on the sides and back and 6” - 7” on the top. I took out my Oster clippers and put on the #2 (1/4”) attachment. I tilted his head forward and clicked the clippers on. Starting on his right side, I ran the clippers straight back across the top of his head. 6” inches of thick beach boy blond hair fell to the cape. Slowly and firmly, I ran the clippers across the top of his head reducing all that blond mop to 1/4” fuzz.

I continued around to his left side and ran the clippers up the left side of his head. Continuing around his left ear mowing down that thick blond mass to 1/4” fuzz. Again and again buzz up the side of his head, thick blond hair showers down on the cape and floor. Around to the back. Buzz up to his crown. Blond hair cascades down. Over and over again all the way across the back of his head to the right side. Buzz up blond hair falls down.

To the right side of his head. Buzz around his ear to the front. More blond hair piles up in his lap. (I think that it was more blond hair that made the mound grow.) Up the right side of his head. Buzz up. Blond hair down. Slowly, firmly if not methodically. All that thick and perfect surfer-dude blond hair was on the floor and cape. Buzzed his head all over again for good measure and rubbed my hand over his head just to make sure I clipped any and all stray locks.

I took off the #2 (1/4”) and put on the #1A (1/8”) attachment and ran the clippers up the right side of his head buzzing the fuzz down some more. Buzzing up all the way around the right side of his head and around the back of his head and around to the left side of his head. Buzzing up blond fuzz down. I ran the clippers around the edges at the top to blend top and sides. Again, I rubbed my hand all over his buzzed head to make sure it was up to my usual standard. I frowned, not short enough.

Off came the #1A (1/8”) and on came the #1 (3/32”). Once again, slowly, firmly, methodically, buzz up the left side of his head. Down falls a dusting of blond fuzz. All the way around the back and the right side. Buzz. Fuzz falls. Rub my hand up. Buzz. Fuzz falls. Rub my hand up. Then blend the top and the sides. One more step.

Off comes the attachment. Just around the ears and the back of the neck. Buzz up removing right sideburn and half-way up to the right temple. Then graduated all the way around the back to the left side where once again, buzz up removing the beach boy’s left sideburn and half-way up to the left temple. Blend in the sides and back. Click off clippers. (Breathe).

Out comes shaving cream. Lather around his ears and the back of his neck. Slowly and carefully, glide the straight razor around the side of his head the back of his neck. Defining the edge and cleaning up. Then lather up that face and holding his very buzzed head with hand, carefully glide the razor with the other hand across that very handsome face. Afterwards slowly and firmly massage tonic around his ears and the back of his neck and across his gorgeous face. (Ok, wake up out of the trance.)

I took off the cape and he stood up and looked in the mirror and rubbed his hands all over his buzzed head. He gave me a big hug and a kiss and said he it was great and that would be back. After Casey helped me up off the floor, we closed the shop for the rest of the day. Help, I’m drowning in uh - - - - - Help, I’m drowning.
